    C6 Intermediate Band Adjustment

UPDATE: That worked. @Isaac Ristow, you didn't just save me $500, I spent four months doing the rebuild, and spent around $750 for all the parts and a couple cheap specialty tools, there was some pride on the line too. Much appreciated, Thank You!

    C6 Intermediate Band Adjustment

Once the PNW "liquid sunshine" is over I'll give it a try. Found a junkyard c6 but couldn't bring myself to buy it just yet. I realized the band turn back after torque varies on each transmission, and it makes a lot of sense a poor adjustment is the issue after minimal break in wear. Thank you.

    C6 Intermediate Band Adjustment

Got around 200 miles on a fresh rebuild then today there were shift issues. Until today it operated perfectly. As soon as I took off today there were multiple intermittent issues going 1st to 2nd to 3rd. I'm pretty confident I didn't adjust the band correctly. Is a new band. Followed the...

    Charging problems 18 VOLTS

There's also a possibility your meter wasn't "zeroed". Happens to me when reading dc amps all the time, I'll forget to zero to start and read 1 or 2 amps higher than normal.

    Someone go get it!!!

I'm convinced the results last week, while political, were in fact only a side effect of the spiritual awakening going on, not just here in America, but across the globe. America's standing is only a reflection of what is in our hearts and souls. Now it's up to us to spread the only Truth that...

    New age headlights

Had a '07 FX4 with Edge programmer. Also had a printout of four different tunes based on use. Spent many hours going through all the different parameters. After all that, only bothered to actually change the tune a few times. Mostly for long trips or "heavy" hauling, but not much of that to be...

Seriously the perfect temp. Now I know what I'm doing.

    New age headlights

The jump to 6500K put the light well into the blue spectrum. I personally wouldn't use anything outside of the 5000-6000K range, as this is the best red/blue mix for the whitest light for driving, but will still distort color reflection. All retail chains use 4000 - 4400K lighting for displays...

    Someone go get it!!!

I wasn't a believer in hydroponics until they legalized weed here in WA. Then evolved from high energy HPS to LED. A full garden might be a little much, but you could easily have a 10'x10' indoor garden for pretty cheap operating cost. Not growing anymore but developed my own formula for a...

It will be much better a year from now. Our living expense will be cut in half. Very possible the next 12 years will be awesome.

So what did you do with your truck today?

My '89 came with a 3 speed E4OD. Swapped it to a ZF5. Was a PIA, but knowing it's a rock solid drive train is priceless. Have only rebuilt one C6, wasn't too bad, except locating the snap ring in front of the rear planetary that keeps the output shaft from sliding out. The only two models they...

    Arduino Glow-plug Controller, Build & Walk-through

First rule of field engineering KISS.. Keep It Simple Stupid... While the more complex the system the easier it is to troubleshoot, as each component has a more specific job, but added complexity only creates more headaches. I agree with your statement 100%, that said, I used a load test for the...

    Arduino Glow-plug Controller, Build & Walk-through

Ha, that's brilliant, haven't tried AI to write a sketch, but haven't played with PLC's since attempting a Christmas animatronic display. Sure beat's trying to Frankenstein pieces of others to custom fit. Didn't read through this entire post but I'm guessing you'll make a filter for the cpu to...

I drove it to vote for TRUMP! MAGA!

Does this look Welded to You?

True, but then I haven't gone into other things they did, among the more overtly dishonest, they wire brushed the calipers, and charged me for a brake job I never requested, declaring that the brakes froze up on a test drive, and when they tried installing the new pads the calipers froze. I was...

Does this look Welded to You?

Thanks much, will inspect ASAP. I really wanted to drive it but due to the amount of time it's been sitting, even the "new" 35" tires are now around 14 years old, still holding air, which is really impressive, but not sure I'd trust them to hold with even a mild pot hole. It's funny, because...

Does this look Welded to You?

It would be easy for me to lay blame and hold a severe grudge, but the truth is it's my fault for not following up after the first couple minor fixes. Was crazy busy running a electrical contracting firm, but that's no excuse. I still feel bad for his mom, whom he talked into co-signing for the...

Indeed. One is a mechanical engineer and the other is a HS football coach.. with two kids.. yup, I'm a grandpa, and proud of it.

Does this look Welded to You?

Long ago, in a land far away, I foolishly believed I could buy my way to the vision I had for a truck I had just bought. Armed with that woefully misguided arrogant assumption, I found a "professional" shop that had a con-artist and thief owner. After many months and many thousands of dollars, I...

    C6 Break In

Will snap a pic later today, but guarantee that cap has slid back 1" minimum. Was obviously due to a failed '89 redesign flaw. Wonder if that flaw was what started the sequence of events that led to the transmission failing? Makes sense, low fluid plus working hard every day would burn up plates...

    C6 Break In

Discovered the white paint this afternoon. My neighbors think I've gone bonkers, was out there in rain gear draining the atf. Your comment about the dimple got me thinking. Cleaned the stick and found remnants of white paint, then shoved that plate down to the dimple and could see where at one...

    C6 Break In

Thinking about that I do have an extra F350 tube and dipstick. Would have to change the tube also, but then could possibly reach in from the front. I'd rather recalibrate the OEM, and install some kind of barrier to hold that shield in place. The pan drain and new fluid will confirm placement...

    C6 Break In

As @Cubey said, perhaps it's the dipstick. Mercon V is obviously light red. The question is where exactly is "bottom out" position, as the OEM one is severely worn, and missin any kind of stopper that would seal the end. There's a cap, but that moves freely along a 1 1/2"-2" section, just before...

    C6 Break In

I agree, but can't find an OEM E350 dipstick. Mine is original, and has seen better days after decades as a rental vehicle. I have a feeling I'm sending the dipstick in too far for an accurate measurement, but have nothing to reference for correction.

    Jesus Freak's WMO tow truck

Those vacuum tube amps are the best for guitars. Had a customer that was a studio player then toured with a couple big name groups that I've forgotten whom, he had the entire bottom third floor in his home dedicated to music, a bunch of different guitars from different bands, etc. Two of his...
