Got around 200 miles on a fresh rebuild then today there were shift issues.
Until today it operated perfectly.
As soon as I took off today there were multiple intermittent issues going 1st to 2nd to 3rd.
I'm pretty confident I didn't adjust the band correctly.
Is a new band.
Followed the instructions, tighten to 10ft lbs, then back off 1 1/2 turn.
Did it with transmission on the bench during assembly.
Once it was torqued, turning 1 1/2 out left an air gap between the band and forward drum.
To be honest, I turned it in to take up the slack, because the band was just hanging in air.
Once the band adjustment is completed is that center bolt supposed to be finger tight?
Thanks.

I just did one last week. The best way to do it I read is to grab a buddy if available and jack up the rear end. Put the trans in neutral snug the band bolt down you'll notice the driveshaft will only turn 1 way with that nut snugged down at this point have your buddy trying to turn the shaft in the direction it won't turn while you loosen up the adjustment bolt very slowly when he's able to rotate the shaft the way it wouldn't rotate stop then back off the adjustment a quarter turn from here and lock it. Can be done by yourself if you loosen it a little then see if it will turn then keep going back and forth between the shaft and adjustment

Once the PNW "liquid sunshine" is over I'll give it a try.
Found a junkyard c6 but couldn't bring myself to buy it just yet.
I realized the band turn back after torque varies on each transmission, and it makes a lot of sense a poor adjustment is the issue after minimal break in wear.
Thank you.
