    C350 Electrical Nightmare

After months focused on the engine/transmission swap as the biggest fear of having issues it's become apparent that was the easy part. Meticulous prep, thorough research, and careful assembly is all that's really needed to make those 7.3's purr like a kitten. The "quality" level of the Bronco...

    Power Steering question

Working on a truck that has sat for 13 years. Got the engine running, and idled it for around 25 minutes to check for leaks and let the oil get everywhere it's going to get, and didn't even think about the power steering fluid, so the pump ran dry for the entire time. Replaced the pressure hose...

    First Start Issue

It turned out to be the rd/gn wire somewhere in the harness loom. I put a jumper on the solenoid and attached it to the gp relay. With the holly pump the lines primed on the first 10 second crank. Put the lines back into the injectors and she fired right up. Today was the first time that truck...

    First Start Issue

I assume the hot lead to the ip solenoid is the red/green connector at the insulated terminal on the ip? Will verify it's operational with a jumper before diving into the wiring nightmare left by others. All the return lines are new up to the splitter that runs the 5/16" line to the tank. Is a...

    First Start Issue

I thought that was just the high idle solenoid control. Even with that open it should still get fuel through the lines, just not as much.

    First Start Issue

Tried to start the C350 today after many months of changes, donor engine, rebuilt IP to 110cc, stage 1 injectors, new fuel lines from tank to injectors, new holly pump, among several other modifications. I have a mechanical fuel gauge just in front of the ip and it's showing 5psi. The lines are...

    Radio Noise Capacitor

Anyone ever try one of those capacitors that plug into the regulator? I'm planning on upgrading to a 3g system, but have other more important items to do first.

    Chronic repeated mouse/rat problem

I got ripped off getting one of those electric traps too. Was the only thing left at the hardware store one day. Something like four D batteries, in addition to the $30 "trap". That was around 15 years ago, should have known better. The cheap plastic spring one are best, unless you happen to...

    Holly Red Pressure test Question

I compared my turbo to CDD pictures and it's an 088, apparently with a 085 intake. There's no shop manual that's ever been produced for the Centurions. From what I can tell, each one is a unique build, they seem to have used whatever they had available, and just made up the rest. It did have a...

    Chronic repeated mouse/rat problem

Not sure how many out there hunt and fish, I did to put meat on the table years ago, when just starting out and building a family while living in Northern Idaho. I learned pretty quick that eliminating my human scent worked wonders when dealing with anything animal related. From deer *** and...

    Holly Red Pressure test Question

Learn something new every day. I also deleted the CDR and put a catch can in off the valve cover. The reg only does 5psi max, so if the static psi difference offset is linear that would mean a perfect 5psi running. I'll be sure to have something to block off the turbo air intake handy just in case.

    Holly Red Pressure test Question

I could see it potentially initiating a "run away", but once the fuel is shut off that would have to eventually stop the engine. I thought it was only possible with the mechanical fuel pump in operation because there was no way to stop it.

    Holly Red Pressure test Question

The biggest reason I ran a deadhead is I figured the return system was designed to handle the constant ip bypass and injectors dump only, and I was concerned about constricting flow with an additional flow from a bypass regulator. Which was the core decision to use the holly due to it's...

    Holly Red Pressure test Question

Deleted the mechanical fuel pump and mounted a holly at the tank selector solenoid. Ran that line to a Racor 500 on the passenger side, then to a Mr. Gasket 5psi deadhead regulator, then a gauge, and on to the IP. Did a pressure test today. With the regulator set at 1psi the gauge showed almost...

    ZF5 Question

I didn't think you could stuff a gallon in it through the fill hole because that's about a quart over. It was just a momentary lapse of focus that will never happen again. besides, still have the floor pan off from the zf swap. Refilled with new oil and all is well. After thinking about it there...

    Electric fuel pump wiring

Your oil sensor has an analog output that the gauge will interpret based on voltage to indicate the oil psi. You would need a normally open pressure switch that just closes at the minimum running pressure. This would complicate operation as the oil pressure doesn't build until a few moments of...

    ZF5 Question

A couple weeks ago I changed the oil in my ZF5 and lost the detent spring, which you guys correctly identified. Put it all back together and thought it was a done deal. Then yesterday I was under the truck routing the new holly wire and harnessing everything along the rail, when I noticed oil...

What is the best Biodiesel info site?

Thanks. Looking at your signature I see your kind of into Hogs. I love the iconic look, but am on the other side for performance. Ride a SV650S road track only, Husky TE250i enduro, a YZ250 fire breathing MX track only, DL650 punched to 790, and a ST1300 moded for comfort. Just did a 500 mile...

What is the best Biodiesel info site?

Hoping to educate myself sufficiently to possibly start making my own diesel. I've checked out a couple links from a search, but they were focused on selling their sponsored equipment, and I believe they tailored their presentation to not include all options, procedures, and processes. Obviously...

    088 Air Intake Bracket?

There is a well worn K&N filter for the intake, it cleaned up well enough, but the rubber seals at the edges are torn up. Wouldn't any 4" air filter work with a 4" mod intake?

    088 Air Intake Bracket?

I like that intake. Doesn't look like too much hassle, and opens up the engine a little.

    088 Air Intake Bracket?

I was about to overcomplicate the heck out of the bracket. Already have the perfect piece of aluminum angle stock.

    088 Air Intake Bracket?

It had all been previously installed on the truck when purchased. There were a series of events with a dishonest mechanic that led to an engine fire, then a clown crew hired off of CL that mangled a replacement engine job. It sat for the last 13 years with the entire top end in pieces in the...

    088 Air Intake Bracket?

I sent it into CDD, who rebuilt it with the fan upgrade, and they never said anything. It looks like those two studs on the bottom front of the air box do mount to a bracket attached at the throttle bracket. Appreciate you taking the time to snap a couple pictures. I spent a lot of time...
