    IP PROBLEM

People are still sour about a little conversation 7 years ago on the internet. They need to get over themselves. Dwelling over distant squabbles is a sign of infancy, not maturity. I personally buy from R&D a lot for my 7.3 IDI Van and his products are great and customer service is the best...

My IDI died on the roadside today

Just the other day, I wore a full-body blue-man skin suit for Halloween. All my Calif friends were like "You're going to freeze your butt off." I said, "I grew up in Wisconsin. This 60-degree Los Angeles weather is nothing. You are lucky I'm not just wearing a loin cloth."

How do you like R&D idi parts?

Even if you play it safe, you can still end up getting screwed. I got suspended several times for posting not-even-controversial things on Facebook, so I said screw it. Once the data selling scandal happened, it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Interest in gauge pods for bulls and bricks?

I've been doing a lot of 3d-printing testing with my VRV prototyping. I've scoured several 3d printing services, and most are not up to the par for automotive usage. Most 3D printers are only good for trinkets and doodads. I found a few plastics that have some decent thermal and fatigue...

How do you like R&D idi parts?

I had a Facebook account, but recently gave it up since the scandal of them silencing conservatives and other alternative media, plus their stance on selling all my data. I archived my old account, and then made it private, but kept it open to use their Facebook Messenger. He's pretty...

How do you like R&D idi parts?

I've found the best way to contact Justin is via Facebook messenger. Phone is less available. If you watch his youtube videos, you can tell that he gets into a project and probably ignores the ringing. I do the same thing, when I'm engrossed in a project.

How do you like R&D idi parts?

I've had good luck with R&D's stuff. injectors, IP, frame-rail stage 1 dual-filter setup, wicked wheel turbine, etc. No complaints. Plus when you buy his stuff, he is very available for advice and customer service. He used to lend out his timing gun too if you bought an IP. I don't know if...

    What size wrench for IP?

Blue smoke is not a good sign. That probably doesn't relate to your IP. But if you want to fiddle with your fuel screw, you need 1/4" wrench to get the cover off, and use a 5/32" allen to turn the fuel screw.

    7.3 IDI '92 E350

Why not pull the heads and get new heads and a HG? If you tilt the engine on the mount, you can do that in a van without pulling the engine. http://www.nickpisca.com/diesel/engine/1988-e250-van-7-3-idi-head-gasket-job-without-pulling-the-engine/ I got my new heads from Diesel Cast...

    Oil Cooler rebuild BooBoo

I love that testing setup. I'd love to fab up something like that in the future, to test my headers and whole assembly. I called all around my part of Los Angeles trying to find a shop that would test my cooler and none would do it. A few said if they even tried, it would cost a lot. So, I...

Interest in gauge pods for bulls and bricks?

No prob. I know the vans are the black sheep, so I'm not too concerned about it. I already run a generic triple pod on the pillar and a triple overhead. I don't mind the generic pod, but I always like the look of the bolt-on pod in the trucks. If someone was going to have a batch of van quad...

Interest in gauge pods for bulls and bricks?

I have some spare interior parts somewhere in a box in the garage. When do you need it by. It might take some digging.

    Oil Cooler rebuild BooBoo

If you want to flush your coolant system with the best emulsifier on the planet, look up "L-11". It's the best, and it'll turn that goopy oil into milk, which will drain a lot easier than the OTC crappy coolant flushes that don't do much of anything.

Thanks for posting your problems. Too many people only post their successes and no one has the courage to post a mistake. The picture of your cut o-ring is a perfect example for people new to oil cooler resealing to show that force is a problem. If there is excessive force, that means that...

    What's a clean E350 non-turbo van worth.

While I'm impressed with all that he's done with it, he's not going to get that much money for it. I empathize with him, cuz I know he put in a lot of cash, but I'd be really surprised if he got more than $10,000 for it. $8,000 would be about all I could imagine as a high offer. For that kind...

    What's a clean E350 non-turbo van worth.

Everyone is losing money on used cars. He's under the misapprehension that you get the money you put into it. That's not how it works. It's only worth what someone will pay for it. And that van is worth maybe... $8000. Maybe.

    What's a clean E350 non-turbo van worth.

Hey, I found a reasonably priced 4x4 IDI van non-turbo in San Diego. https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/1989-ford-350-4x4-diesel/6692177761.html It's only $2450. Oh wait. He is ASKING $24500!!!! LOL. This guy is high on crack. I never thought I would have to write this ad! We...

Why does is smoke black if I time the injection too advanced?

    7.3 n/a exhaust advice

I put in a high-flow Walker straight-thru muffler on my 7.3 and it didn't increase HP. But it did bring down my EGT's 200-some degrees.

Since we are on the topic of oilburners buying and selling parts without knowing it, I'm always interested in IDI van parts. So if you are looking to sell IDI van stuff, be sure to PM me first, cuz I'm more than likely interested.
