    Can't adjust c6 shift points?

Definitely check everything else in that vac system first, to make sure the VRV isn't the issue. You might just have a pin hole leak somewhere in the hoses before or after VRV that could be affecting the vac pressure at the modulator.

    1989 E-350 Dual Fuel Tanks?

That would be the only place that could possibly fit. And you'd have to have the E350 to have enough frame height to make this work.

    1989 E-350 Dual Fuel Tanks?

My '88 Clubwagon has a 16gal mid tank and 22gal rear tank, just like Jayro. If you have the room and welding skillz, try to install the 44-gal excursion tank: http://www.nickpisca.com/diesel/fuel-system/custom-install-of-the-44-gallon-excursion-tank-in-a-ford-pickup/

7.3 idi F350 overheats while pulling

I switched to a high-flo walker straight thru muffler and my EGT's dropped 200 deg. But I have a turbo, which would help reduce the sound. You should turn your fuel screw back a flat. See if that helps. Also, get your timing double checked.

    Can't adjust c6 shift points?

If your modulator is functioning fine, and your vac pump is ok, and you don't have any vac leaks in your hoses, and you have tried adjusting the VRV on the IP in various rotations without anything getting better, then I'd say your VRV is starting to bleed vac pressure. If there is a time in the...

7.3 idi F350 overheats while pulling

You have an NA IDI, pulling a trailer up a grade. The best you'll get without a turbo is 50mph. Subtract 1 to 1.5mph for each 1000 ft of elevation. That said, your EGT's are abnormal for an NA. How many cc's is that rebuilt IP? sounds like it's pushing too much fuel.

    Can't adjust c6 shift points?

Yeah, getting to the VRV in the IDI van is a PITA, with that darn fuel filter in the way. I bought R&D's framerail dual filters and put them on the frame by the C6 crossmember, and that opened up a lot of real estate. I've been kind of obsessed with VRV's lately, and I kinda know a lot about...

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

That sounds a lot like the Hypermax down-pipe ring. Hypermax must have copied the ATS style. I personally liked the Banks connection, because it bolts on, eliminating any possible leakage. The piston-style-ring sometimes can still leak even after it warms up.

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

Make sure you have a leak first. I just run the engine in my driveway with the doghouse off at night, then get a good quality bright flashlight and look for smoke. If you have an exhaust leak, mark it and reattach your exhaust connections in the morning. On the banks kit, there is a gasket...

    Pulling engine and trans together?

Every time I've pulled an IDI from one of my van, I've had to disconnect the tranny. With just the engine, it's like trying to give birth to a rhinoceros. I can't imagine the PITA it would be to pull with the tranny connected.

Bummer. I'm sure you'll find a buyer in L.A. or S.F. Lots of people are buying these vans up to live in. How much are you asking?

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

That pic of the driver's side of the engine and doghouse is crazy. That VC breather is wild. No CDR.... just hose. I already don't like the burn and exhaust marks on the inside of the doghouse there, man. You might have some exhaust leaks (you should get them sealed up as soon as possible...

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

This is just really odd. I know it would be a lot of work, but if I were you, I'd figure out an alternative setup. I really like the Hypermax cylinder, because it sits up high in the engine bay, and allows you to get access to all the injectors except 2 and 4 from the back, and you can get 1...

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

A lot I wanted to comment on this thread, but didn't have time last night. Very interesting setup. The down-pipe is wonky and huge. All the equipment is massive compared to the hypermax and the banks van kits. I'm surprised the doghouse fits around that monster. Also, what kind of...

c6 to e4od swap. Worth it?

That's the key to better MPG with these engines. Slowing down. Whenever I drove 55mph, I got 3 or 4 more MPG easy. Before my turbo days, I would do that a lot to save fuel. It was boring, but you got used to it. Then I got a turbo, and now I typically go with the speed of traffic here in...

c6 to e4od swap. Worth it?

I don't know enough about the DNE2 (I have the GVOD), but I'd be worried about sourcing a tailshaft housing adapter for the E4OD. They are usually the thing that junkyards don't include when they sell the OD. I know that I'd never switch to the E4OD, because with my 3.55's and GVOD, I'm pretty...

Slide in camper owners: what's your mpg?

The fact this forum feels the need to babysit the free speech of grown men is the primary reason why I don't contribute more to this particular forum. That looks promising. I like the Banks Van IDI turbo setup, but there are some flaws. Hopefully the PO took care of the kit, because if it is...

    Gear Vendor OD troubleshooting

If something popped out, you probably should invest in a new replacement solenoid from GV. I bought a new one last year from them and it works fine. I think my solenoid was original from 1991, so it likely needed an upgrade anyway. Don't know how old your solenoid is, but it might be time...

    Vacuum Warning Switch

My vac sensor hasn't worked for 6 years. Last year, I installed an old mechanical boost/vac gauge that I had sitting in the garage. I had it on an old TDI from years ago. I tee'ed it in on one of the vac lines on the hub, and ran the nylon hose to the cab, putting the gauge on the dash. Now...
