So what did you do with your truck today?

It's one of those fancy oil soak filters, anyway. LOL K&N, I believe.

    What all runs on vacuum?

That was my first thought, too. But it's a new booster. Less than 3k miles on it. Ergo, maybe just a vacuum leak. Got to check out the easy stuff first. Booster might even have a warranty on it if it comes down to that.

    What all runs on vacuum?

When I am stopped, if I press the brake pedal hard at all, it slowly leaks down. I have checked the brake system. No leaks. No air in the system. (Replaced the long hard line on the rear axle recently, and bled the system again.) So I am wondering if it is just because of a tiny leak in the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Did this a while back. Think I even mentioned it here. Thought I'd just show it. The yellow is the old road tube. It used to hang down behind the engine. Man, there is a LOT of oil all over everything down there, from that tube! I'm going to clean that up, to make sure it isn't coming from...

    What all runs on vacuum?

92 NA. Can anyone tell me what are all the things that are supposed to run on vacuum on this thing? I think I have a vacuum leak, and I want to eliminate as much as possible from that system.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I got a better picture. Went out there with a powerful flashlight, and my phone camera. Funny that the phone camera takes better pics than the actual camera. From what I have found online it looks like it is a dana 50, with 3.54 gears. I believe it is a replacement axle, because the axle code...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Took the passenger side front axle stuff apart. Brakes were only dragging as much as you expect. I don't like that they drag at all, but it's disk brakes, what are you going to do? Nothing there to force them back off of the rotor after you let off the brake pedal. Rotor, caliper, pads...

    Solid rear brake line.

These guys are actually a pretty good shop. That's the reason I chose them. Very good reviews online, and even better reviews from friends. They seem to only have one mechanic who is even able to work on my truck, though. And he absolutely hates working on it. It sat in their lot for 3 months...

    Solid rear brake line.

My luck with the guys who replaced that fuel tank, they have the rubber line piched off up there somewhere.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Question for the masses... Do you have a preferred grease for the front bearings?

So what did you do with your truck today?

Do you have a link to a good example of that?

    Solid rear brake line.

Thank you. I'll do that. Was afraid to do anything like that without knowing what it was. That hose will go back on, just fine. Think I'll get out the compressor and blow through the hose from this end, before I do that, to make sure it is clear.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Couple things. One of the braces that holds the skirt/side of the bed, broke. I believe it happened when the tire blew out. You can see in the pic that a bunch of the steel cords from the tire are wrapped around it. That brace was bent back, behind the tire. And was rubbing the inside of...

    Solid rear brake line.

Ok, I got the brake line on. No leaks. Working just fine. Here is the tag for the brake line that I bought. Sorry that it's hard to read. I have a crappy camera. Had to shine a flashlight on it for the camera to even pick it up. Now here's a question. What is that stub? (I have inset...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I rubbed the back of my hand against whatever spray-on coating they put in there on the inside of the door skin, and had a nasty infected rash for weeks from that.

    What's up with the censoring

I agree. Ergo, my assumption. They haven't done so, so far. And already, many of the words that had been censored, are no longer censored. Including surprisingly, but evidenced above... "ass". I think the hardcore ones should be left censored. The f word, for example. But most common usage...

    What's up with the censoring

Just my opinion, but personally, I think cussing lowers the standards of any worthwhile conversation. Censorship of cussing can have it advantages. But it always seems to only be the camel's nose, poking through the tent flap. Before you know it, the camel itself is in, crapping all over the...

Starting issues after solenoid relay replaced

    Solid rear brake line.

I found a straight line the same length and with the same fittings on each end. Took my line with me to be sure. Exact match. Now I just have to put some bends in it without ruining it.....

    Solid rear brake line.

I'm going to take that line off. Then a friend is taing me into town, where I will either get a line that fits identically, or I will get the stuff to make my own. I've never done an inverted flare. And I'll have to buy the tools to do that with. I hope that line comes off of there without...

Starting issues after solenoid relay replaced

I like that switch too. Almost recommend it. But it's 20 dollars more than the one I did recommend. I can't recommend for or against replacing the lock cylinder. I replaced mine the week I got the truck. But that was because mine was obviously broken. Like someone had tried to start it with a...

Buying 85 IDI ATS turbo motorhome!

I've long suspected that the additive in those things is acetone. Brake cleaner is acetone, I think. And brake cleaner will swell rubber. It also makes rubber that has begun to harden, become soft and limber again. Put just enough of that stuff, (and no more), into your power steering pump, or...

    What's up with the censoring

@snicklas Would it be possible for me to get a copy of that list of 800 words? I could go through the list, and make a list of the words that are 'common' to the vocabulary of someone working on our rigs, and not likely to be used as actual cusswords... Like for instance screw and blow...

    Solid rear brake line.

I need a part number for the solid rear brake line that goes to the passenger side, on the rear axle. 1992 F250. Mine is squirting out a solid squirt every time the brake pedal is pushed.
