    1994 2wd e4od sawp into a 1990???

If you don't have the keyway, then you need to swap the shafts. Your 90 shaft will be a direct swap for the 97 To swap the output shaft you will need to take the entire tranny apart. The output shaft is first in, last out. Check the bushings while its apart.

    1994 2wd e4od sawp into a 1990???

You will need to swap the early (90) extension housing and tail shaft to 94 case. Before you do this remove the 94 extension housing first. On the tailshaft check for a keyway. This is where the drive gear goes. If you have this just swap the gear from your 90 tranny. The 94 extension...

If you disconnect the TPS the tranny will automatically default to HP mode (Limp Mode).

    Turbos?

Before you go crazy, check for boost leaks first. Check the down pipe for leaks. The down pie is easy. If you see soot on the firewall, you have a bad leak. Any soot around the collector means you have a leak. You can make a leak detector with some hardware store parts. I think there is a...

    Transmission problems

If there is no bind up it could be a dropped filter. From the OP post there is binding. That would be a sign of internal damage. Without opening it up, its hard to say what smoked internally.

    E4od controller

With an aftermarket controller you will lose the brake switch to release the clutch. Lock up and release will based on RPM and speed.

    E4od controller

Remember not to lock the converter too early. No less than 1200 RPM. Anything lower will fry the converter, and damage the tranny.

    E4od controller

The factory TCM sucks. It gives the E4OD a bad name. Baumann makes an afordable tranny controller. If you want to get really fancy there is PCS. Best thing about any aftermarket controller is gets rid of the factory quirky shift program. All you need is a tach signal,RPM signal, and...

    School me on e4od

89 is a mutt year, being the first year. So some parts are unique to that year. Mainly the valve body. The parts that you need will interchange. The output shaft and extension housing is the same for all E4OD's

    What work to do myself?

Check the two Torx screws at the base of the shift lever. They have a habit of coming loose, making the shift lever very sloppy.

    E4od users

Go with a standalone controller. Much easier to install, TPS, RPM and VSS signal is all you need. Best part you can tune it to do what you want.

    4r100?

What was done to the accumulator body? The issue could be with the accumulator valve. I would do a pressure test to see what is going on.

    Factory trailer wiring

You should have a blue wire in the factory plug. This is the brake feed. Its been awhile, there should be two plugs at the rear of the truck for a 7 pin connector. It might be hidden in the left frame rail. The 92-97 trailer tow package harness is obsolete from Ford. So your best bet...
