    Traveller Smurf (Cubey's '89 van)

I don't disagree in principle, but I can say for sure that my power goes down when I'm flirting with 220*+. Especially 230*. I don't know why exactly, I'd like to know for sure.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I've done beads in my Volvos, and while it's not perfect, it's good enough. I think beads are probably as great as the tire itself, and if you get an out-of-round tire, they just can only help so much. That said, I don't like having to be at the mercy of a shop for, well, anything. :Thumbs Up...

Same here. I have two aftermarket coolant temp gauges, because one was cheap and part of a 3-gauge set, then got a nicer one later for my pillar pod and kept them both. LOL One in each head! 190* is right on for a fully warmed up IDI in my experience.

Wiring harness and thinking about selling

You might put out some feelers on Facebook/Craigslist/OfferUp and try to trade someone their stock setup for your Skyjacker + $$$. But like @IDIBRONCO mentioned, it may be more than a bolt-on setup, we just don't know. I took a quick look back at your original posts but can't even find if you...

    '86 Extended cab project thread

I remember Justin talking a lot about the dampeners being two-pieces and NOT keyed...how dumb is that. I guess it doesn't move around on most engines, but can definitely be a problem for some!

7.3 idi overheated and the c6 started to drip.

The gauge you're talking about is coolant, right? I take it you installed an aftermarket gauge, cause the OEM one blows nugs. Like Holy Idiot Light Batman. What were you towing? If the ATF level stays good, sounds like you're good to go to me, but I'm no slush-box aficionado. Looks like every...

    parallel turbos

Which did you learn first? I have only done stick(and Texas tig :sly) so far, but I've read that generally mig is easiest to learn, then stick and tig. Which is why I started with stick, so that I have that skillset before moving to either of the other two. Point being if you learned stick...

Where to buy a turbo bumper cutout insert

Haha...late reply, but no, I didn't do anything with her yet. Thank you for the pictures and encouragement. I've been a little lazy on these things lately! But unless a turbo bumper gets dropped in my lap, I'll be doing a similar thing as you. Buuuuut, I don't have a plasma cutter. So grinding...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

Oh and for the trans cross member, I've done a box wrench on top and again a impact wrench with u-joint next to the socket on the bottom. If the impact can't handle it, your breaker bar can.

AMAZING SHOP!! Goodness gracious. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." LOL For the top bolt leverage, put another box wrench over the open side you've got sticking up. I love this trick! Hope that helps. Looks like you've got body-sag from the body bushings, it...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yep, that's exactly the problem! We actually live in unincorporated King County, so when the plows come through our area they aren't messing around and the roads get clean. No so down in the city proper. Yeah cause they can't do the basic math of recessing them ONCE, vs fixing them every...

Wasn't the stock adapter on #2 for vans? Maybe the lines came off something else at some point. Either way measure the total length of #1 and #2 line, counting the adapter as part of the line. They should be equal length.

So what did you do with your truck today?

If you didn't catch it 20 years ago, America's Funniest Videos had a little run of "Garbage Trucks on Ice!". Turns out you can find it on YouTube. LOL I didn't do it today, but last week we had a few inches of snow, then freezing rain over night, and at some point another 1/2" of snow on top...
