    Smokin wires

Sadly this plug is not capable of safely passing enough current to fire the glow plug relay.Thats why the engineers decided to use two wires instead of just one. Then if you open the harness plug you can see how small the male and female side of the plug really is. I did what you want to do. I...

    Injector line clamps

Look closely at the diagram from Oregon Fuel Injection. See how the lines run thru the clamps. Four lines go thru the clamp on the drivers side and thats the only clamp with all four lines running thru it. I found is nearly impossible to use the original nuts and bolts. So I purchased longer...

    Fuel pump help

I bet if you put some air pressure in the tank you will have the sucking issue solved. Just run the electric pump into a can so you aren't dumping fuel to the driveway.

    Clutch problem

I think we all need to change to braided stainless steel lines for safer stopping these rigs.

Air intrusion with electric fuel pump

Put the original filter head back on this engine. From your pic I see a 1/4 inch fuel line running from the filter to maybe the return line. My guess is thats your problem. Now the return line kit you installed. You can't mix and match the systems. Green clamps is the small set and red clamps is...

    Fuel pump help

These pumps suck better than they push fuel and run dry is much longer than you might believe. I recall mine 10 years ago said 12 hours run dry. Now please tell us what the tanks fuel level is.. If its near the 1/4 tank level you bet the suction lines are broken off and the last 1/4 tank can't...

Air intrusion with electric fuel pump

Testing thru the now failed mechanical lift pump wont hurt but... you best check the oil level before and after you try this. Many times the failure is the short rubber hose from the frame rail to the lift pump. Every movement of the engine will flex this hose. They don't last forever. Also...

    Injector cap o-ring replacement

That is the special timing fitting found on many 7.3 engines. It was used to time when the original Ford timing meter was used. Some still have the protective plastic cover on them too. They are the same size as the hard line nut so be sure to use a backup wrench under the fitting so the...

    Return line kit

Mel taught me something about bleeding the hard lines at the 2009 rally. He has all the lines tight and cranks for bout 10 or 15 seconds. Then cracks each line just a bit loose and listens for the hiss of escaping air. you bet you can actually hear it.Do that several times cranking and bleeding...

    Altering odometer on '93?

Swapping the dash cluster is the easy way to "rool back" mileage on any truck.Sadly the dash screws are not sealed with the tamper paint like our injection pumps are. About 38 years ago I wanted to change some circuit breakers SAFELY.. So I felt I could remove the power company meter from the...

    Air cleaner gaskets..7.3

    Clutch problem

Just a note on stainless that rusts.. That is a very low grade stainless called 400 series. You was the better 300 series.309, 312 or 316 is great stainless.Stainless will gauld easily thread to thread so you best use a stainless anti sieze. When you are threading pipe compression threads to...

    Welding oil pan in place?

Sadly we are not able to do anything to the oil pan plug. The oil pump pickup head is about 1/4 inch off the bottom of the pan. On you guys next oil change just stick a screw driver up the drain hole. I bet you will be surprised. Maybe you might look into the return fitting that Frantz bypass...

    Larger transmission pan

And this is a good thing Kenny.. Nothing more messy than trans fluid dripping everywhere when you try to NOT make a mess changing trans fluid and filter..A member here suggested that I purchase a kiddys pool to "catch" all the trans fluid when I change the atf fluid ... Someday... I sure will...

High Idle Stays On At Operating Temp.

Normal operation of this "switch" located behind the thermostat housing is.... Closed so power flows thru this to the fast idle cold advance. When the coolant reaches around 120 degrees the "switch" opens shutting down the flow of power to these two items... So who can say this is normally open...

    Larger transmission pan

Kenny I do not recall any idi E4OD trans coming with a pan that had a drain plug but the later powerstrokes had one. Just a note on draining trans fluid without a drain plug in the pan. The pan corners have bolts with longer threads. Those are loosened but left in.As the other bolts are removed...

White smoke and rattle at idle.

    DB2 - 5069 & 5070 - Difference ?

Any DB2 pump fits any idi engine. The VERY slight difference in these two pumps is the pin in the throttle shaft. The E4OD pump does not have the pin but... Make sure you install the tps on the throttle shaft correctly. The shaft has 2 places for the tps drive collar.

High Idle Stays On At Operating Temp.

So far everything posted bout this is true. No parts store will have this sender. I tried nappa and all the others. Finally went to a pick n pull wrecking yard and got 3 of them... They are very expensive thru international or ford dealers too. you can simply unplug this sender and not have...
