What wire are you testing the voltage from? You need the center wire and that color is green. Truck needs to be warmed up so the fast idle is off. Or remove the power wire to the fast idle solenoid and adjust voltage on the tps with a cold engine. both ways work fine. If your tps switch has...
Welcome to the forum. What happens with injector replacement and not replacing the injection pump you end up with timing that is retarded. The pump is probably original with 180,000 miles on it. Usually they are well worn out around 125 to 150 thousand miles. Now new injectors in and they pop at...
That is a steel line like most ford trucks have running across the frame under the engine. There are supposed to be plastic clamps in the frame to hold that line so it wont rub like yours has....
Welcome to the forum... Your suggestion that the engine needs a new set of ZD9 injectors was incorrect. ZD9 is the glow plugs and if you need those please use ONLY Motorcraft Beru ZD9 glow plugs. Nothin else works and will cause issues.. Also this forum recommends purchasing injectors from only...
Might want to check Ford or International before you decide you want to replace it. Even on ebay they are very costly. something like 400 + bucks. BTW an o ring from International that usually will fix this is about 2 bucks.Like I have ALREADY mentioned.. your better off to plug this location on...
You might be correct but please check the return lines near the back of the head on this side. If the valve cover gasket is the problem at least its the easy side to replace.
Sadly the engine wont start turning over that slowly. From what you explained so far my suggestion is your batteries need replacing. From what you posted one of your batteries are draining the other. Please replace BOTH batteries. If you don't the old battery will drain the new battery to its...
Sorry I don't have the information you want but I know if you drain and count the gallons drained out.. you will know the proper amount. Please remember to drain BOTH sides of the block.
Usually the sad story is the front accessory bolts are a special length and head so..My suggestion is find a wrecking yard and buy the bolts off a wrecked truck engine. Take a pulley removal tool because of the bolts behind the pulley. this is a not so easy place to work too. Never try to remove...
Yes it can easily be fixed. Whats leaking is the fuel heater electrical element fitting. you can open it and replace the o ring but it will continue to leak another time later on. Or you can remove the fitting. Tap the hole to 1/2 inch national pipe threads and install a pip plug.No matter where...
Have you tried bleeding trapped air from the anti lock valve? Or have you bypassed that mess yet? I have "lived" with this panic stop issue for a few years. My guess is the anti lock valve is the problem. Hydroboost will only apply a certain amount of brake line pressure before the peddle goes...
Precups are pressed in. Even my new heads years ago needed a brass drip pin thru the glowplug hole to be removed. Sure they can get loose but know they are pressed in. The ONLY place they touch the heads is the outer machined ring. Internally they do not touch the cast iron head
What color were the original return line clamps? Did the caps change in how the return lines connect? We have an offset cap that will use ONLY the red clamps. Thats because this is the larger line. the caps with the return lines directly in the center of the cap will use ONLY the green clamps...
Sounds like the caps are not seated all the way down on the injector. Try this. Remove the hard lines and slip an o ring over the top of the plastic cap. then tighten down the hard line. this forces the cap down properly.
Welcome to the forum...6.9 heads can't be installed on any 7.3 without first drilling out the 6.9 heads to fit the 7.3 head bolts. This has been done before too and it works great. Just plenty of work drilling out 34 holes bigger. You 6.9 thats bored to 7.3 can be used but my suggestion is...
Go to you tube. Ask how to replace heater core... Its plenty helpful to "watch others" do the job before you try it. But its simple. Remove the glove box.See the black square box behind it with 4 screw heads 5/16 size. a nut driver and its opened exposing the core. Have the hoses off the other...
With no turbo my suggestion is install an exhaust gauge called pyrometer. Otherwise you have no idea what the exhaust temp is now. Say your now borderline running too hot.Turn it up 2 flats and you face horrible piston melt down. Its your call if you try to get away with turning it up with no...
