    As far as I know the transmission is fine. I was under the impression removing it is almost necessary to pull the engine? I'm going to try first without removing it I suppose. I went back down to the shop after dinner and knocked out some more prep work. Just couldn't help myself. ;)...

    I pulled the #2 glow plug and injector: #2 injector is from 2005: Stanadyne 781535. So hard lines replaced in 2004 and injectors in 2005, or more likely, both in 2005.

    First 5 gallons of oil/water drained: Another 1.5 gallons: Still draining into a 3rd pan: I'm going to pull the engine and assess its condition, but I'm thinking just putting in new head gaskets isn't going to do the trick. I'll know more once I get the engine out and pulled the heads...
