A question for Injection Pump rebuilders and experts.

I called my retired mechanic friend last nite & he said same thing. Gut that valve & more flow thru IP & cools it & less build-up in IP. Need good lift pump or electric pump.

What size is the o-ring on the injection pump return valve?

Josh what Amazon kit did you get? For just average everyday stuff I've tried couple Harbor Freight O-Ring kits in the past but really they don't cut it for fuel or oil. I like kits from itty-bitty to maybe 2" O-Rings just to have in the shop.

A question for Injection Pump rebuilders and experts.

I suggest wait till Russ @typ4 maybe sees this & responds. I have a retired mechanic friend that told me years ago to take that valve off & gut that ball out. I can't recall now why he suggested doing it. He worked thru the '80s & '90s at Chev Dealership here in Or & worked on lots of DB2 pumps...

    Cold Advance Question

If I understand your question, you asking if you touch hot wire to it it should rev up? Mine will energize the hi idle switch when touched but have to give a bit of throttle to raise actual RPM while energized.

    Wide-range ZF-5 poll

Well I wish I had the gas ZF5 instead of my diesel ZF. Creeping back & forth loaded BIG & HEAVY I have to drop into low range on my BW1356 just moving round. Taking off loaded really heavy I burn my clutch!!!!

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

So @Reggie f250 & you other guys, when you battery testing glowplugs about how long you test & glow & heat them up usually? One at a time like this vs all hooked up in engine & turned on might be different. I've always test lited them, but this way makes more sense to me now.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

Thanks. Looks like that way works. BTW couple nites ago I was poking around on Amazon and found “Genuine” ZD9’s for all way from $110/set down to $32/set. One set $79 barely showed the “B” of writing. SCARY!!!!! I learned my lesson few yrs ago off of EBAY for a cheap set that broke off.

Another lift pump lets me down.

Well like I said I've had very good luck with the Holly Red & Blue. I bough few of them off FleeBay used & good luck. Though Hollys are loud I personally don't care as long as they pump & pull big loads. (don't tell no one but I just returned from Tx 2K one way trip grossing 28K+ & my Holly...

    Oil dipstick tube

On my 7.3 there was that short flanged 2 stage tube (about 1" long) goes into block. Then Dipstick tube has 2 itty-bitty little flanges at bottom of tube that a itty-bitty O-Ring slips in between. Then the dip stick tube slips into the 1" 2 stage tube. I tried & tried to find a small itty-bitty...

    Cleaning out the radiator

Sadly back in the "good'ol days" not long ago (10-15 yrs) I could pull my radiator off, carry to local radiator shop & get upper & lower tanks pulled & resoldered & core rodded & recored for $100-$150. Last yr I carried mine in & he wanted $1100 to recore it or sell me new brass core for $1200...
