    Cleaning out clogged AC drain.

I can't even see the drain - the a/c unit is covered with aluminum foil wrapped insulation. From a creeper I see nothing, from the side looking down and in the inner fender is very close to the unit. Should I remove the insulation?

Rebuilt E4OD 800 miles ago now having problems

This morning I started the truck and drove it less than 300 feet and let it idle in park. No shifter LED blinking when I left it. 15 minutes later without the truck moving an inch the light was flashing.

Rebuilt E4OD 800 miles ago now having problems

The problem with this is that the engine needs to be off for the scan.

Rebuilt E4OD 800 miles ago now having problems

I have used the code reader on this same truck in the past - now it seems like the TCM can't be read.

Rebuilt E4OD 800 miles ago now having problems

A local shop, member of ATRA installed a rebuilt E4OD last fall. I bought the 4 year warranty transmission. Recently the first drive after warming up will have some barely noticeable shuttering up shifts which lights the shifter LED and starts the limp home mode with harsh upshifts. If I shut...

    Cleaning out clogged AC drain.

I've owned this truck for 30 years. It always did drip condensate but never for 5 plus days from one short ride with the AC on. Something is partially clogged.

    Cleaning out clogged AC drain.

Drove the truck Saturday (5 days ago) and it's still leaving a puddle of water on the garage floor. The AC works great but I'd like to get the drain to flow faster. It comes out near the passenger's feet under the truck (outside, no leaks inside yet). Thanks!

    Leaks when it rains

Follow-up report.. The new windshield and my prep work where the windshield rests - did the trick. No more leaking... and we've had plenty of rainy days this month to test the fix.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Replaced passenger door hinge bushings, pins and striker. It can be done without disconnecting the wiring - just takes a little time - but less time IMO than unhooking and reconnecting the wires in the door. The passenger door closed OK but it rattled over bumps. It's nice and tight now.

So what did you do with your truck today?

$6,995.00 for a 2014 Kubota ZD331. 60" deck (fabricated not stamped) 30 HP Kubota 3 cylinder diesel engine with no emissions. Almost 2,100 hours. I had one at work and loved it - 1 gallon per hour fuel consumption, 11 miles an hour top forward speed - the blades spun so fast it would mow neatly...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I took the truck to another shop I've used and it passed inspection first try. Next day I rented a fairly heavy U-Haul trailer and drove 600 miles round trip to look at a used Kubota diesel zero turn mower in Vermont. The zero turn was serviceable but I passed and came back empty. It was a good...

    Extender for Injector #1

I like the clamps you used on the return lines! My factory lines were great for almost 25 years until they were replaced, now it's ongoing leaks.

    Exhaust manifold gasket question

I believe I'm being cheated at a local chain for a state inspection. The same shop has inspected all my vehicles for years - I left off two vehicles last week for the required annual Maine inspection. The shop claims the exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking and need to be replaced in order to...

    Leaks when it rains

Had the glass removed this morning. There is no perforation of the flange despite what the photo shows - it's a shadow. The rust is mostly along the top - sides and bottom are good. I bought a quart of POR-15 ($80.00!!!!) and after I get the rust removed I'll give it a few coats this weekend and...

    Leaks when it rains

The two times I tried to remove auto glass (windshield or back glass) taught me never to try it again. A man's got to know his limitations.

    Leaks when it rains

Thanks, That's what I'll do... replace the windshield.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Maine requires a safety inspection once a year. Today I took the truck to a nearby Midas shop I've used often. 4 hours later they called and said the exhaust manifolds leak... both of them apparently. I can't see, smell, or hear any evidence of exhaust leaks. Midas said they can't get one of the...

    Leaks when it rains

1993 regular cab - the drips form on the plastic trim that frames the windshield directly above the turn signal stalk. First I suspected the clearance lights and replaced the foam gaskets and the clearance lights with what looks to be original equipment. I added LED lights and it looks great...

How good or bad is the E4OD?

Mine lasted over 220,000 miles - many hard miles towing a 3 ton travel trailer in very rugged mountains in the US and Mexico. With the 4.10 axle I usually towed in OD and there was little hunting. I towed fast, too - 80mph grades and headwinds permitting. When towing it's good practice to shift...

    Worth fixing.

This is my dilemma now. A 1993 F-250 - in great shape towing a 1997 Holiday Rambler Alumascape travel trailer. Towing 3 plus tons cross country is ******* a vehicle. Although I've kept up with the common issues there are still other 30 year old parts that might be ready to fail. Dealerships will...

    Ujoints

I tried to cure high speed vibrations for years. It might not be the U-joints - I replaced the U-joints, steel wheels, tires, and Centramatic dynamic wheel balancers (beads contained in a circular tube that mounts between the wheel and the hub) - all with little improvement. Finally heavy 10...

    New age headlights

I like the stock 1993 headlight appearance - which I recently replaced as the ones I installed in 2006 had already started getting fogged plus one had moisture inside. I've seen too many older vehicle's stock looks spoiled by new-age headlamps that look too different when off. The traditional...

    Broke down

Usually fuel delivery issues feature surging and starving while driving at least for a few seconds. The few times I waited too long to switch to the second tank before the first ran dry the engine let me know with surges and a dead pedal - every time once I switched over to the full tank it...
