Definitely bolted in and requires removing interior trim to access fasteners. Take extra care handling that plastic cause it's old, brittle, and sometimes difficult to locate replacements. Biggest problem will be getting the should belt anchor bolts out.
The cap looks very similar to the old Ford factory caps. I had one years ago, they were super heavyweight.
If the grille is decent, might be worth saving, it's the most common thing damaged in most accidents and fairly expensive to buy new. Even those rectangular headlights if they're good. If...
Just as important, also make sure the breather tube isn't clogged. Over the years I've found them clogged by mud wasp nest on several occasions. Pull the rubber hose off and blow thru checking for blockage. While the hose is off, also verify the nipple is clear into rear housing with a pipe...

I haul an old slide in camper and use air bags. No on board dedicated, compressor however I do have a 12v air compressor that doubles for tire inflation. Usually air up one time and it's good for entire season. Typically put 50 psi in the bags and 50psi in each rear tire.
Yep, unfortunately it was me. I had terrible luck with their product. There's two of them in my scrap aluminum pile and we shipped two back. Shipping damage was always an issue. Leaks consistently developed between tank & cores. I will say the company always stood behind their product, I gave up...
Fuel quality is another contributor to lazy starts. I've noticed over the last few years winter fuel quality seems to be worse. Might consider trying a triple dose of fuel additive to increase certain before going down the glow plugs and wiring check list.
Cheap replacement switches, both headlight and dimmer have probably destroyed miles of wiring. Real FORD replacement parts are always your best bet and the member tested relay upgrade is an excellent method for protecting your wiring harness against a possible melt down. I also like using...
Good to know! First point of concern on this project is dealing with airbags. I've never had to remove them and understand they can be dangerous. I'm planning to remove both dashboards and reinstall the 2000 dash into the 2003 dually. At this point I'm simply collecting information trying to...
Officially joined the powerstroke team! Never wrenched on one of these, long time idi owner. Just now purchased 2003 F-350 crewcab dually 4x4 7.3 powerstroke 6spd as a project. This truck unfortunately experienced an extensive under hood electrical meltdown destroying virtually everything under...
Bought the next "project" and it's not an IDI. 2003 crewcab dually 4x4 7.3 powerstroke 6spd that experienced an underhood electrical meltdown / fire. Virtually destroyed everything under hood. Also bought 2000 F-250 single cab 7.3 powerstroke 6 spd 4 x 4 as parts truck. Going to be a ton of...
If my engine flew apart tomorrow, I believe I'd be looking for a 24 valve Cummins. Those engines have always impressed me in both power and fuel economy. I wouldn't even "hot rod" it, stock power is plenty for my taste.
Early bulls also had FORD on the hood. Front parking lights are different color. These trucks also had the Swiss cheese frame. First trucks with ignition switch on column & plastic dash. Another little piece of info, if you're scraping one of these (F100 or F150) some have a very desirable Ford...
Oh Lord, don't say that! I'm too damn old to change jobs now. I'"ve been employed by the same company since graduating from college and if the economy maintains I'm done in four years.
"Under body spray" I wasn't referring to anything exotic. Simply meant I touched up black spray paint on...
