Filtered wmo in carbureted oil stove?

I burn wmo in wood stove. Very simple gravity feed system with a ball valve to regulate flow. It drips oil onto the wood, so it really a combination wood / wmo burner. Works great!

Where to thread in pyrometer probe

Put mine in the exhaust pipe just below the manifold (driverside). My thinking was welding a bung onto the pipe is easier than drilling and taping the cast iron manifold and far easier to fix if you screw up.

    Crewcab Project

Firewall clean up (both sides) is complete. Resprayed with duplicolor over the por15. Pulled crewcab outside and drove the donor / parts truck in. Amazing conditional difference between truck from Tennessee and a PA plow truck with half as many miles.

So what did you do with your truck today?

That light will also come on if the pick-up in the tank is clogged.

    Crewcab Project

I'm working at with a wire wheel on my hand grinder and recoating with por 15. This isn't the first time I've used por so you'd think I'd have prepared better by wearing disposable latex gloves, however the black splotches on my hands clearly indicate otherwise. I swear it doesn't matter how...

Firewall clean up has been a far bigger job than I anticipated. The heat compromised factory paint adhesion on just about everything.

02/94 Crewcab F350 bench to bucket seat swap ??

I installed 05 front buckets in my truck however it originally came with buckets. This required fitting the 05 seats to the 87 floor mounting brackets, then it was simply a bolt in.

Any new fuel sending unit suppliers?

I don't recall ordering 460 specific. You're correct the diesel wiring harness uses a plug connector with only two contacts while the gas senders has a wide flat plug with more wires. I changed the plug on the diesel wiring harness to the wide flat plug so when / if future replacement is...

Any new fuel sending unit suppliers?

Both of the tanks in my truck have senders for gasoline fuel systems. I simply purchased without the intank fuel pump, and added a short piece of fuel line and strainer. Gas senders are inexpensive and readily available.

    Crewcab Project

After weighing all the information, all of the options, i think the best direction for me is installing everything from the single cab and modifying the wiring to power the rear doors and power seats.

I already had the little 1000watt gen so it made more sense to simply buy the magnetic heater. I agree factory block heater far superior.

Here's the BD turbo. Wheel turns smooth, not sure what would be required before reusing??? I'm planning to use stock turbo when I reassemble the truck. This turbo might go on later after bugs are worked out.

    Crewcab Project

I found a used harness on eBay that has same pn# except one digit. After questioning the seller, it appears both trucks were same other than his was as auto. He wants $500 for the used harness. Ford parts lists the harness as obsolete, I cannot locate any nos ( new old stock). Here's couple more...

    E fuel pump question

I've had a Holley red on my truck for more than 10 years, no issues with the pump. If you locate the pump on the frame near the tank, any leaks between the pump and engine will immediately show up as a fuel leak because you're pushing fuel. If the pump is located underhood, any leaks between...

    Crewcab Project

Never owned or worked on powerstroke prior to this truck(s), so really jumping in head first! It's 1000 times more complex than my old 87 idi and after digging in, I'm a little intimidated by the wiring. With the fire damage 99% contained under the hood, I thought the single cab parts truck...

    Road Trips

One of the big concerns I had on this trip was starting issues due to extreme cold. No cell phone service this far back in the bush and I was completely alone. I bought a Garmin inreach for satellite communication and while I didn't use a generator while camping, I did have a small 1000 watt...

    Road Trips

I'm not a "speed demon", with the camper loaded typically not more than 60/65. My gears are 4:11 however the tires are 35" tall therefore speedo is off approximately 10% meaning calculating mpg requires a little math and truthfully not an exact process. I set the trip odometer when I left home...

    Luk or South Bend?

I just pulled the engine on my super duty crewcab project which has a South bend clutch. I have no information regarding how the truck was previously used / treated however the two small springs in the clutch disc were broken. My idi in the sig has an advance Auto smf conversion kit that was...

    Road Trips

Another 1800 Mile road trip in the old idi. Northern Maine again this time to hunt deer. Hauled the 1967 slide in camper, stayed just over one week in the north woods hunting for a whitetail. Saw numerous moose but zero deer. Single digits during the night really chewed up the propane! 8" of...

    Somebody better buy this truck!

I don't think the factory ever manufactured dually as F250, or with independent front suspension and all factory dually's had bud style wheels on the front axle. My guess this was a home grown dually, possibly you avoided a terrible experience.

    Crewcab Project

I also purchased a parts truck that has the same 7.3 powerstroke & 6spd trans + it only has 128,000 miles. So the plan is to use the engine and electricals from it. Unfortunately I'm now realizing the interior wiring harness of the crewcab was destroyed and the parts truck is a std cab...
