    I don't know that the booster is actually bad, but on this van, you have to unhook a brake line to take the master cylinder with off the booster. The RV wasn't that way. but on this one, the line hits the radiator just enough when trying to remove it, so you can't just slide it off of the studs...

    Yep, it's leaking. I only got as far as getting the MC off today. I wrapped paper towels over the lines to keep out dust. (windy, dusty, desert environment) The moisture in the booster is brake fluid. The moisture outside is spray lubricant from soaking the booster threads.

    Yeah, I do maybe 1/3 to 1/2 for cold starts. But for most? I just press and release once while the glow plugs are running. Although, my cold idle advance isn't operating right now. But it wasn't on the 87 F250 and it seemed fine.

    I dunno when they began adding those instructions, maybe with the 7.3? The 87 6.9 F250 I had, didn't have those on the driver visor. The RV had custom fabric on the visors to match the RV cushions and door cards, so of course they wouldn't. The photo is on my 89 E350.

    It's easier to get to the transmission to engine bolts, due to the unobstructed access to the back side of the engine via the doghouse, if you have to remove the transmission. And you don't have to drop the engine to do the oil cooler. It's good a bit annoying doing injector return line...

    Ford instructs you to hold down the pedal fully while cranking, when it's below 32°, and half way for above 32°. That would also set the cold idle advance, if operational.

    It's smog exempt in California. And even if it wasn't, it only would matter if you try to register it there.

    False alarm, maybe. It was parked facing into a moderate headwind gusts. So maybe it was just sucking more air, especially due to the exposed air filter setup just under the hood on the Banks turbo van kits. It's not doing it after driving to my next stop, away from the wind blowing on the front.

    I'm guessing this is an issue with the Carter type electric lift pump starting to get weak , but thoughts? It seems to be driving fine including at highway speeds, but then again it needs less pressure when wider open.
