Pretty sure they are kingpins lmc diagrams and parts stores list them as kingpins but I don’t know a whole lot about from axles so could be mistaken
I take it as 100-250 had ball joints and 250HD and 350 had kingpins
As the title states truck doesn’t return to center worth a hoot
86 f250 2wd twin I beam
New alignment, tires, red head steering gear, and tierods
For the longest time it was like driving a forklift absolutely 0 return to center
Tried to grease the kingpins unsuccessfully many times finally...
Wasn’t aware he had them in stock, you can never go wrong with studding ever, even n/a they are good to reuse
And when you are building a truck to last a lifetime it’s definitely up there on the list of stuff to do
I just have a normal 6.9 ats 085 so I don’t need more fuel that stock reason I got the 90 was it’s the same price as the 70, and 80
Also the 3800 governor is a big bonus
He also stands behind his products more than most sellers he has a video where you can watch him make a 90 from start to finish
That’s called a fuel pump lobe
Part number will do you no good I can almost garuntee that that was made obsolete many years ago if your near 83617 I’ve got a couple
This is awesome I didn’t know how quiet a/c compressors could be, my old one it was just as loud as the motor at idle, I added some uv dye in the system last night and ran it though for 20 minutes an hour later nothing was visible I’ll have to see how it did overnight
Replaced compressor, dryer, all orings, and out in a red oreifice tube, vacuumed it down for 30 minutes and then it held 30 inches for 10 minutes no leaks
Now trying to fill up I hit a stopping point 70 low side 100 high side compressor goes on for a split second nothing for 2 seconds and...
Nero is right my 6.9 ats 085 stock ip will make ~10 psi how I have the fuel set now
My buddy put a r and d stage one turbo on his ats 093 (stock turbo) kit stock ip and it makes a whopping 3 psi on a good day
I bought my first idi at 15 2 years later still got it and have had 3 idis parts trucks sense and I’ve gotten 3 of my similar aged friends to daily idis aswell
Why did I have to jinx my self so hard by asking an ac related questions
Today driving home my ac stopped working I checked the low side pressure 130 psi WOW how does that even happen I drained all of it out tried to fill it but only got maybe 2 inches jn before the gauge says 60 psi? What in...
It remember reading somewhere that someone put a r-134 accumulator in a r-12 truck to be more efficient with r-134 but I just cannot remember what truck that came out of it where I read it from
Does anyone have insite?
Terrible picture but I just blasted out all the diesel, oil, and grease from the ip and valley and can confirm that it is definitely coming from the bottom Somewhere
It appears I am leaking diesel from in between my ip and ip gear housing, what in the world can cause this?
No diesel in crank case so that’s good just goes down the valley and makes a mess
Is the input seal leaking in the ip? Or can it simply be the the o ring that in the snout
Its about a drop...
Pistons in my opinion are the weakest link in an idi, I’ve personally torn down 3 motors and seen them cracked or melted, can be easily avoided with a simple egt gauge
Right now I’m rocking my “temporary” motor which is a 6.9 with an ats 085 I run it 8-10 psi but I did 14psi once and turned the...
If your running over 15 psi go 7.3 anything under it doesn’t matter, cavitation is a over inflated issue and the rest of the 6.9 “problems” can easily be swapped like the rockers as mentioned
I was on the road coasted off into a new on-ramp that wasn’t open yet,
Broke broke 1 cap was shattered but still on the yolk the other one turned into shrapnel, I’m not sure how that can possiblly happen at 200 horse
