big block chevy fueling for your IDIT+!!

Look at that cute little actuator arm... Where are you getting them at? Might have to get one myself for the shelf when time comes to replace...

Heres how I added an additional fuel filter that reuses the engine oil filter.

It really breaks down to the filtration capacity of the filter. if i remember right the head filter is 10 microns. Anything prior to that won't hurt. As long as inlet flow and pressure remain in spec, the filter at the engine should catch anything that gets by.

Got a strange problem with my starter

Dropping to 9v when cranking isn't abnormal. I would get your batteries load tested. 12.6v does not mean a battery is maintaining full capacity. Also wouldn't hurt to make sure the major grounds are clean.

Dang you beat him to it @BullDiesel ! So tell us, is all you did was swap out the actuator arm, or did you do more? Would love to see a DIY for the rest of us to attempt it.

Is it a problem to have the positive and negative cables run side by side with no air gap?

I have yet to see any type of fuse between a starter and a battery on any vehicle, automotive or heavy duty. Not saying they don't exist, but it makes sense not to have one. Surge amperage.

Help narrowing down cause of the tapping noise..

Fuel knock could be a timing issue, but if it just recently started and you did not make any changes to your engine, I'll still bank om worn parts. There's my $1.00 :joker:

Help narrowing down cause of the tapping noise..

If it does not improve I would stop driving it. Fuel knock is unintended fuel detonation and can cause cylinder damage.

Oh yeah that sounds like fuel knock. Bet it is an injector... I'd get them tested. When I had fuel knock like that it was injector stuck partially open. Could only hear under load, at idle, ran fine.

    Coolant filter kit

Some people have reported still getting casting sand out of their blocks even years after many flushes. Im running a low dose sca maintainer filter. As to why... It is for ease of mind. I've spent too much money on this truck to neglect it, and I refuse to afford to replace it with something...

    Coolant filter kit

Shush peanut gallery of negativity. I also run the CDD one and am pretty happy with it. It is definitely a kit with the serpentine belt setup in mind for installation, but fitting a bracket right off the fuel filter head is easy to do as well.

@Indadesert why do you have to always pipe up and be an a*s about everything? How about be constructive here instead of being a pr!ck? There's a man up for you.
