    Pto fitment

That could be a rough go. I used to have a catalog.... and the number of gear variations is staggering. You might have an easier time digging around for a PTO originally off a ZF5 trans. I got one on a core I picked up. Besides local ads, try www.car-part.com for a trans and read the results...

Get 2x wheels and tires. Easy increase in peace of mind. Then you can take your time and think about long term fixes. Find a private-sale axle for half the price, etc.

With a drw axle swap..... Don't forget you need ubolts, wheels, tires, redo brakes most likely, and cobble on some kind of flares/fenders. If you go off-road, duals can get rocks wedged between. $850 seems high. Never paid more that $400-500 for any 1ton diff, and I'm 3x Dana 80's deep now lol...

I wouldn't rule out a new pair of 17/18/20" either with appropriate tire. It's just with 16".... there's enough used wheels out there, and 265-285's to fit them are cheap for their capacity. My last pair of 16x7 Ford steelies were $50.

Something else to consider .... none of these tire, wheel or axle mods change the GVWR rating of your truck.

    Removing VE-pump anti-tamper cover w/o damaging it?

I have taken the collar off a couple. It really depends on the spot-weld how gibbled the threads are. I used jewelers files and a thread size to clean it up. You can also buy a replacement screw...

You said you are 1500# over on your current tires. Did you die? 23% stronger tires in a slightly wider profile will be an improvement. I have wheels similar to what you have linked, with 315/75R16E (3860#). They have not failed on me, but my heavy loading is occasional. -6 Offset sounds...

I don't like spacers for heavy payload. The load isn't centered on the hub bearings. I don't care much for duals either. Twice as many tires, and limited size choices. Extra width may or may not be welcome. Also whatever you have to do to make hem fit with a factory pickup box. Side note...

3200# rated wheel is fine IMHO. It's the heavy version. I have seen aftermarket 8lug wheels with something like 2600#, which is what to avoid. Now got find the 265 or 285 load E rubber.

Check for a weight-rating stamp too. They look better painted black IMHO. I trust the Accuride wheels to more weight than they are rated (3045#).

Be sure you are measuring correctly - inside the flanges.

'92+ E250/350 and 92-97 F250/350. Edit: these wheels are a staple of mine. Very strong and fit hubcaps. I grab them whenever I see some cheap. They stick out 1" extra; while most modern, wider wheels have gone the other way (inboard).

It's a cantilever. It has the effect of unloading the front axle slightly, shifting the burden to the rear. A similar up-force is generated 5-6' ahead of the rear axle. On a sudden jounce, the effect is more pronounced. It's why towtrucks (wheel lift style) often have a weighted front bumper.

RV manufacturers and dealers are famous for fibbing about real/wet camper weights and want to make the sale. Watch for tiny disclaimers about "properly equipped", etc.

Vision 81's are on the cheap end. 18" gets you there too. (You only need 2.) Either way is a 33" tire to get 4k# capacity. With my e350, I specifically didn't want to go start modifying the body or adding overall width going duals.

Like i said, the srw axles are de-rated to what two stock tires can handle. I put two Rickson 19.5" singles on my E350 van when I was contracting. 4500# wheels. 4800# tires (245/70R19.5) Finally it could control itself. I see other guys with large campers running the 19.5" singles sometimes.

We don't really know, but it is obviously capped at what 2 stock tires can handle. I give it 7k# anyway. Most duallies are rated for 7500-8250#, but are known to have thicker tubes.

They grew to 16x7 for '92+. 6" is the older wheel. Yes 80psi. Lots of brands. Goodyear has been a go-to brand for me the last 12-15 years. Wait for a sale

    More power 7.3

If it's automatic, change to a manual. Axle ratio makes a difference. You can turn up the injection pump, but things can get toasty, so a pyrometer should be part of that mod. If you can score the turbo and jewelry off a tired or scattered IDI for a few hundred bucks... then I'd say go for it.

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

I don't really know the E4OD that well. Seems to me that different clutch/band sections could be worn to different levels and the same available pressure may not grip one set as well as another. This last one i touched only needed a front seal. I did the other stuff as precautionary, and the...

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

TC doesn't have to come off. It has a 1/8" pipe plug for a drain. It could still be possible the filter is clogged.

E40D Flexplate replacement - shifting trouble

Fwiw, the last e4od I worked on... Changed flexplate, input seal, drained the TC also, and changed the filter. It shifted better/quicker than before once we were done. I'm wondering if your work stirred up some sediment or debris in there and something is sticking.
