    https://www.oilburners.net/threads/v-belt-picture.61730/ I just found this thread and I see that someone has the wrong belt on the AC, it takes a smaller belt and is not run with the PS pump pulley. I'm buying the correct belt tomorrow and fixing this.

    I agree and the a'c pulley is supposed to have two belts and is probably why it sequels for the first few minutes when turned on. I'll get new belts tomorrow and see about rerouting them. Think I'll buy a Hayne's book for this truck as well.

    Hmm... I've no idea, I've never adjusted a steering gear box before, never even knew that you could.

    Thanks to all of you with your information and advice. I bought the truck last night and drove it home 80 miles with no issues other than the steering is a bit lose. It has a good 20 degrees dead spot in the middle but I haven't looked at adjusting it yet, hopefully it doesn't need a steering...

    Thank you very much for the info, it will help. I've seen videos about newer Powerstroke engines and testing for blow-by by loosening the oil filler cap and watching to see if it dances. Would that be a thing with the older 7.3's?

    So I'm feeling a bit more confident in the ability of this truck thanks to your replies, thank you. Any advice on what I should look for on the engine when I see it tomorrow? Any special quirks that these engines have?

    It's listed as having a ZF-5 Speed Manual Transmission. I'm not going to try to race I just want to be able to haul. local area would be no more than 40 miles in any direction. And it is a dually.

    So I'm thinking of buying an older Ford F-350 with a 7.3 IDI engine in it with 138,000 miles. I've been reading that it is a solid engine and the truck is in really good shape for it's age, it's a 1988 model. I have read that this is the first year for this engine and that it has no electronics...
