Justin buys new injectors, then pop tests them and gets them
all working together.
Does not rebuild used one`s.
That`s what he told me when I was at his shop couple years ago.

I just rolled 365K in the 86 6.9.
These engines do not have a timing Chain or Timing Belt.
So I think that helps on the long life of these engines.
A broken one takes one out pretty fast.
No Valves to adjust.
They have mechanical fuel Injection, so nothing electrical to fail, except maybe the...
That`s strange, I click on it takes me to Diesel Bombers site and page I linked. Then scroll down to post 9.

Beautiful, nice work. To do it right is a ton of work.
Incredable job doing the two tone back to factory.
You have an eye for detail.
Would be interesting to see how the factory panted these with two tone, pin Stripping etc... all coming down the assembly line.
I have a 87 with the same color...
When I changed all that stuff probably 3 years back. sure made the cab quieter. Was probably original from 86, and as most people never change them. The window rattled back and forth, and the top of the plastic door panel was broken off in a few places from the sun. Replaced it with a new one...
the86s thanks for the feed back on your over view of your
5-spd conversion.
I like the T-19 except for 1st being a bit too high starting on a grade with a load, or reverse backing up, especially backing into my car trailer at 10 MPH, plus the 3:55 diff.
4th in both gear box`s should be direct...
When I remove the Triangle Plate, I stuff a couple rags under it
to catch the fuel that runs out.
Don`t take the plate off, just the top screw, loosen the bottom one and let it swing down. Makes it easier to reattach.
I was searching for a picture showing the locating or timing pin,
ant setting...
I would rather remove the Bed, done it 4 times so far.
I thought the bed Bolts were just carriage Bolts. The nuts on the Frame were so rusted they wouldn`t move. With fuel lines close on the L/F didn`t want to attempt that.
Figured I could grind off the heads and they would drop out....way they...
The early one we go in 81 had the Air Compressor Belt driven.
The one in the 95 truck it was along side the block on the drivers side, and I guess it was gear driven.
Most diesels when the oil is changed, doesn`t take long to turn black. (Yeah I know about residual oil.)
That 95 engine, it...
Canister, meaning the coffee can with the small vacuum line going to it?
My 86 doesn`t have one but the 85 does. It`s for the Cruise Control I believe. The 85 has Cruise.

I put my money on a bad Booster.
Mine was hissing when pushing down on the Peddle, and not stopping very well. Later you will get one brake application,
and then almost nothing on the 2nd one. Loose Vacuum = lose Brakes.
I was at NAPA talking to the guys and one said the hissing was normal, I...
We got 2 new IHC Dump trucks in Oct 81. Plow/Sander Bitc h tank on the side for tack coat when doing Asphalt work. Both were automatics. think 1800 series, had them for a good 12 years.
Had a few others, were mostly haul trucks with a 5 spd 2spd rear end. Those 466 engines just ran and ran...
Couple fixer uppers there for sure. They sure need some love.
Kind of like out IDI`s.
Be interesting, when were they built, who lived there, how many different families, when were they last occupied.
Sad to see things slowly decomposing....

I would stay away from E-Bay or Amazon for Plugs. Lots of fake
plugs out there.
Rock Auto is good, and maybe your local auto supply.
Here is a thread on the subject.

Late Fri night I tried to contact Ford Parts Giant with a
message through their site. Wanted my VIN # but came back
invalid. Then tried using the one for my 85 6.9. Came back invalid,
so maybe something wrong with their computer system...IDK.
Used it before.
This morning I called them, talked...
After I opened the package last night and it only had the the
Grommet, and the picture on their site was of the Hose also,
I did some digging around to see if the Hose was offered separate.
I decided to sent Ford Parts Giant a message, they want your name, rank and serial # and top secret code...
Just got them in the mail today, and it is just the gasket part,
E3TZ-6A892-A, each in a Ford Package.
Looks like from my Googling around, they did come 2 together in
a package under the part# E8TZ-6A892-A
I saw one review April 21 where the supply chain was drying up.
Some got the Gasket...
The Hose Russ offered, I bought one for the 86, was real easy to bleed the system. They are pricy, but worth it. Think I paid Russ
$62 for it, but now around $80. Forget the guys name that sells
them now.
Be sure to install the 2 fittings with the Roll Pin`s first.
Use a clean container, Drink...
They hardly put enough paint on these truck when they left the factory to cover them. It`s not even paper thin. GM and Chrysler were the same in those years.
I have an 87 4 x 4 with the same paint color. Rust Hood and top of
Cab.
You going to Rattle can it or spray with automotive paint
with a...

I clicked on the Pay Pal button, and bibity bobity boo and they will
will send it to you..
With shipping mine came to $7.45 ea. Killer price from a Ford Dealer.
I don`t have a Turbo, but IDIBRONCO got you covered.
Here is the...
