Yes, that is why they can get by with it… they move a lot of oil. Plus, there are 8 built in oil leaks……… (piston jets)- snicklas

will bad tps affect tac?
O/D Off light dimly glowing all the time, is a power failure to the TECA. Check the TECA relay and fuses. If it were in true limp mode, the O/D Off light would be flashing.- snicklas

E4OD TC engagement
The TECA passes a small current through the brake light circuit on this era truck. It was designed for incandescent bulbs. If a brake light is burned out, or shorted, it will throw the TECA into fits. If there are LED's the resistance is different, and messes with the TECA. People have even...- snicklas

6.0 radiator fan in 93 turbo?
In this case, it doesn't have to do with how the crank turns, it has to do with how the belts route and the way the fan turns. The IDI Fan turns the same direction as the crank, the crank and waterpump are directly belted together. But on the 7.3 and I think 6.0 PSD the belt routing...- snicklas

80-86 Long bed
An 80-96 bed will work, however, the 80-86 bed has different body lines than the 87-96. The bull bed has the body line above the rocker and the fender lip does not "stick out" fro the side of the bed. Also the shape at the top bedrail is different, as it the tail lights. If you look at the... -

OK. It's been awhile, but let me break out the math.... The equation: P=I*V - Power (in Watts) = Current (in Amps) multiplied by Voltage (in Volts). We know the Voltage (120 Volts) and we know the Power (1500 Watts) (I think the block heaters are 1500 Watts) So that gives us: I = P / V...- snicklas

Electric pump conversion question
Just an interesting tidbit on the fuel heaters. Eventually Ford (and maybe IH) realized they didn't need a fuel heater. My 03 6.0 does have a heater in the HFCM (Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module - It's the primary filter, lift pump, water separator, water in fuel sensor and fuel heater)...- snicklas

Zf6 swap?
Is it a lower 1st? I thought 1st and "high" (5th or 6th) was the same, and it gave you one in the middle. I've never driven a ZF-6, so I don't have any in person experience. But, there are a couple people that have done it, and they said it is not worth the time an effort, since they...- snicklas

Extended Idle Time.....
Yep, on the 6.0, that is the PTO wire. I have wanted to do that to mine for years…. But really only comes to mind when it is cold out and I don’t want to mess with it in the cold… Or, you could use a hi idle stick….. MINT!!- snicklas

Can 9v 7.3 GPs handle 12v if used carefully?
All that Z resistor is for is to measure voltage drop so the 7.3 controller knows when to shut off. From what I have read the ZD-1A (6.9) and the ZD-9 (7.3) glow plugs are 6 volt rated. This was done so they heat up faster than a 12 volt plug. The 6.9 "dumb" controller was know to fail on...- snicklas

Yes, that is the problem. Those are the signal wires, and the oil is shorting them out. Looks like that sensor will need replaced. But, hold your hat, they are cost more than you might think....- snicklas

Help identifying a screw
Is it a rocker cover screw? I know some had screws instead of hex head bolts. Does it hold a bracket for a linkage on? Maybe it holds down the glow plug controller.- snicklas
