I looked on there today but it seems like there are a few different ones floating around and I don’t want to accidentally spend $100+ on the wrong one. But yes I would like a proper paper copy.
I’ll have to look at the door tag tomorrow but I know it was equipped with 235’s from the factory. I’m running 285’s.
I would only run them below 30mph, would that still harm the diff?
Does anyone know what the owners manual would say for tire chain placement on a 1993 F350 4x4 SRW 7.3L IDI? I am running M/S 285/75/16s. The place I ordered the chains from said I need an inch and a half of clearance. Could I run them on the front tires if needed?
I am looking for the factory service manual. Also, I am not sure if the international manual is needed or separate from that? If so I am looking for that as well.
Any help is appreciated!
My truck leaks about 25 gallons of fuel a week right through the injectors. It’s totally dependent on how much I drive it though.
I like my truck to piddle a little bit, a marking of territory ya know.
The dog does the same thing on our walks and we always find our way back to the cabin.
okay luckily mine is the front and so only knocks when I have it in 4wd and am going 10 or less usually under the circumstances. I'll YouTube it to see if I have the necessary tools and if not I'll get the tools I need.
Hey guys I'm thinking I've got a bad U Joint on my front drive shaft but I'm not sure. Here is a video of the noise it makes. It only makes the noise in the front when 4wd is engaged. It's a much slower clink clink clink at low speeds but that video didn't record.
If it is the joint are...
Nope, we live on top of a mountain and it probably hasn't been above 20 degrees since Halloween, ha.
Im going to get a grill cover on there soon because it could be a little warmer but it seems to be okay once it's warmed and I idle it for heat. I'm not in a tee shirt in there but I'm not...
Okay, so once the engine is up to temp and you want to idle for cab heat you would flip the switch and it would bump the idle to ~1,000rpm and just leave it like that until you are ready to drive away again?
Would it be better to run a separate throttle cable in some way and use that and then I...
I love a low tech solution like an idle stick. I use a tire thumper to check brake lights and if I had enough clicks in the seat it would actually be a pretty accurately adjustable idle stick.
For the brakes I put the stick against the brake pedal and then slide the seat forward enough to...
Exactly. I want to know if it is better to let the truck idle on it's own or should I try to bump the rpms up. The heat of fine and warm at idle, I would only be doing this to improve the longevity of the engine.
In cold weather I was curious as to the safest way to extend idle the truck once it's hot? I've seen some things on here about switches you can use to control certain aspects of the timing and throttle speed.
If I am out and want to idle the truck for an hour or more for cab heat should I try...
Is 2500 2500 no matter what? It seems like 2500 in 2nd gear is harder on the truck than 2500 in 4th or 5th.
My brain tells me that 2500rpm is 2500rpm but my gut feels like it's different and somehow harder on the truck and transmission.
Well I'm in the mountains of PA so this is one of those hills, ha.
It's not struggling in 3rd, it's just that road speed in 3rd is too fast for this dirt forest road. It sounds like I'll just be better to run it in second at 2000-2500. For some reason 2500 in 2nd feels like it's a whole lot...
So I am trying to find the sweet spot for my truck while coming up a mountain road through the forest by my house. If I stay in 2nd gear I’m probably at 1800-2000+RPM but if I shift to third it’s hard to stay above 1000RPM. So I’m stuck overevving 2nd or lugging 3rd.
If I shifted the transfer...
I've never driven a ZF5 like this one before but I've been using 1st every start because it felt way taller than any granny gear I was used to.
How big and expensive of a job is the synchros on this?
