    Can somebody identify this knock?

I'll save you gobs of wasted time by reading above posts and tell you it's probably a bad injector. You will likely find culprit by cracking open each injector line one at a time while engine is idling. Listen for any changes to the way engine sounds. When knocking goes away, you found your bad...

Play in my water pump, FUBAR? Video included

You can buy a new brass fitting at Home Depot or lowes for the water pump to heater core hose. That's what I did and worked well.

    Freeze plug tools available.

Since these are typically a one time use for many folks, I would set up a rental program for them.

    Oil Cooler End Erosion

In that case, yeah you will need new ends. Try posting in the wanted section.

    Oil Cooler End Erosion

I wouldn't necessarily say they are shot. Looks like there's some corrosion in there but not bad. That's somewhat common with a ~30 year old oil cooler. I would have a machine shop hot tank and rod out the tubes on oil cooler & re-seal it.

    Champion radiator cc1165.

They are made in China, as is almost everything nowadays unfortunately. Having said that, I was impressed with build quality of these rads.

    Champion radiator cc1165.

Had one in mine and had no problems with it. Always ran cool, fit perfectly & price was right

    how would you plumb this?

I kinda like the X configuration :popcorn. I'm sure either or will work just fine tho.....wouldn't they? Maybe the X configuration will flow a bit easier because air won't have to "hunt" around in a box before exiting the system :dunno.

    New clutch slipping.

Do it and find out for yourself. Either way your going to have to start taking stuff apart to find the problem. A slipping clutch is no bueno

    V-Belt wobble

This is somewhat normal. The a/c & alternator belts are so long that they will naturally wobble a little. Replacing the belt may help some.

    Rodney red, Mishimoto or other??

Just sayin it's a lot of $ for something like that. I think it surprised me because I have never heard of a radiator costing that much. And yes, people have paid around 1K for these trucks. Sometimes people over estimate what a ~30 year old truck is really worth lol. To each their own! I was...

    Rodney red, Mishimoto or other??

$850 for a radiator? Wow, a lot of idi owners didn't even pay that for ther entire truck. Total ripoff imo but I'm sure its built well. Would never pay that much for a rad lol

    Rodney red, Mishimoto or other??

Looks identical to a champion rad imo. Not to be off topic, but did you ever get around to installing that 088 I sold to you a while back?

    6.9 "Wellness Check"

Haven't heard of anyone going 1 million miles on an idi before rebuilding. Semi trucks most definitely, but not a 6.9/7.3 idi engine. Chances are it'll need to be rebuilt long before that amount of miles are reached, but anythings possible I guess. I have heard of multiple Cummins engines...

    6.9 "Wellness Check"

Do a compression test if you want to know how your engine is holding up. I don't have the acceptable baseline numbers on hand, but I'm sure someone on here has that information for ya.

    Coolant leak stumped

If your checking for possible headgasket leak that might cause milky oil, just pop off the oil fill cap or pull dipstick.

what is the draw on a solid state GPC?

Good idea to integrate a fuse for these gp systems. Something I never really thought of to be honest. I did fry a GPC after installing my rebuilt engine in. Not a good feeling when you see smoke bellowing from hood of a 30 year old truck lol.

Thoughts on the new Delo 400 SDE API CK-4

Been reading up on this topic since I'm bored tonight. Looks like ford company has refused to use the new CK-4 oils in their diesels :dunno. Not exactly sure why or how they came up with this, but the consensus is that it accelerates engine wear in 6.7 powerstrokes. As of now, they will only be...

    Coolant leak stumped

Could be the upper radiator hose that connects to thermostat tube. Mine leaked from there and got coolant on starter. All it required was a couple turns on hose clamp. Worth a look see.

Cooling system flush and radiator restoration

To add, champion radiators are the way to go. I had one in my idi and just put one in my Jeep. They are relatively inexpensive and the 3 rows do an excellent job at keeping these engines running cool.

Cooling system flush and radiator restoration

Good idea to flush the cooling system. However, chances are you will have to replace the radiator after you do it. They only last so long. And at ~30 years old, probably better off just to replace it because it might leak afterwards. Also keep an eye on the water pump after you do this. An old...

    IP Adjustment

You do not need to loosen the injector lines to time injection pump. I've never had to do that & timed my ip many times. There is a tool that can be used to "bar" injection pump over a little if you have to adjust timing. I always used a crescent wrench on mine and it worked like a charm.
