It’s a pain. The back of the crew roof drops off while the roof section from the extended cab is flatter. No way around lots of filler. But I managed to get the drip rails pretty straight. I doubt it will be too noticeable when it’s done.
Well I haven’t posted on here in almost 2 years. Lol. The builds still going! I drive it for almost a year as a flatbed. Then I started posting on the oil burners Facebook feed or idi group. Anyway I decided to take a break from Facebook so here we are.
I eventually wanted more room so I cut...
Yes I believe I don’t have any boost leaks. I had IDIoit time my truck over the summer with a tach and time. Maybe I’ll play with the fuel screw a little more. [emoji6]

It’s turned up some. Used to not smoke at all but does now when I stomp it. Egt’s ony an issue towing. Although never went over 1100 or so. Ive never driven another Idi with turbo so nothing to compare it to! Haha. Maybe I should just crank the fuel and say screw it. Haha.

I agree. Still wondering if upgrading to a wastegated turbo for more low end boost and performance injectors and pump are worth it.

This is not my experience. My 8k trailer made my truck a dog. 7.3 ate turbo non wastegate 5 speed. 35” tires with 4.88 gears. I could do maybe 40 on the grades.
Unless something is wrong with my truck but I seriously doubt it....

Man this build is great. I don’t know how I missed it until today!
Youve got me inspired to do a megacrew conversion, but I’ll need to get an extended cab section to weld on my cc.
Cant wait to see how the finished product turns out.

I was thinking about your wheel hop comment. So I tried a burnout in my f350 with 35’s. Wheel hop confirmed! Haha. Then I realized it’s a lifted truck and moved on.

It’s not hard to do at all. But it will take the better part of a day. Most kits come with a bracket to lower the fan shroud. You need to lengthen the steering shaft a little. Gives a lot of clearance for things like a down pipe and makes trans work easier.

There is power at the fuse box. Doesn’t it run from the fuse the the fan speed switch in the dash? Or dies it run from the fender relay to the motor then over to the switch?

Trying to get the blower motor to work on my 87 f350. Fuse is good but no power to the motor with my tester. I pulled the switch from the dash and no power there either! Is there a hidden relay I’m not seeing??

If the egt’s are getting too high grab a lower gear. I replaced my fan clutch with a motorcraft and it solved my overheating problems.
You can definitely hear it but the jet engine term getting thrown around us a bit of an exaggeration. It’s a definite noticeable whirring if you ask me...
I pulled my entire hydroboost system pedals and all off an 89 superduty. It used the same metal loop on the cross member that my f350 has.
