I have read about but have not installed a cooler in my truck using the water radiator"s stock oil cooler as a secondary cooler. The only addition will be a tee and valve in the lines to bypass the water radiator cooler in the summer.
Update for my wife and myself.
We are planning on traveling most of the day Tuesday to the event. Planned to arrive the campground somewhere around 8PM. We will be doing the RR and trading post trip Wednesday with the group. If we don't get to the campfire Tue night do you have a planned depart...
Hey Mel
I have shirts from previous years to wear so if it doesn't work out that is fine. Don't sweat it.
Working on changing the fluids for the trip. My son's got me a vacuum tank for sucking up stuff. Sure works great for the differential oil.
You got me there. I mean the down pipe (turbo exit gases). Anyway still a good investment. If you ever have a chance to compair with the factory squeezed pipe.
Up date us on the wicked wheel. I'm looking to eat one also. About the up pipe. I got mine from Banks and it worked almost perfect. I had to put a dent in one spot and added a bracket to the engine to stabilize it. I also wrapped it with exhaust header fiberglass tape.
Just signed up online at KOA.com for June 30 through July 5. Wife is looking forward to seeing Mt Washington. Elijah can you put trip to the Mt Washington on your list of events within those days?
Now that my list of prioities has changed to getting all the bolts tight on the truck to make...
Just some of my findings. When using waste motor oil and blending unleaded gas in it allow it to settle for at least 2 weeks. I have found out that there is a layer of sludge that forms on the bottom. My procedure is I will put in about 3/4 gallon if RUG and 4 gallons of oil in a 5 gallon...
It is a lot of work to install a complete turbo kit. I would get the valve covers if possible. They have some of the brackets you will need. NA and turbo uses the same CDR valve just a different location. Put my ford turbo on last year and wished I had did it sooner.
With the pending hurricane headed North Cathie and I are postponing out trip for 24 hours to revaluate the conditions. Hope all goes well at the campground today and this evening. We are sure dissapointed in the timing of the storm. I always enjoyed the show and shine. Please post here if the...
Cathie and I should be arriving Thursday Noonish. We will see how traffic is. I have been only to Cape May once on the ferry. Anyone going to a beach possible on Friday during the same time the Smithvile trip is planned. What beach is good to go to. Trying to decide some side trips. Have to get...
I installed my pyro in a 1994 Ford stock system about 4 inches below the turbo. On the up tube before the turbo. Fit tested so I can remove while turbo and plumbing is intact. I also wrapped the down tubes with fiber insulation to keep some heat out of the cab. Love the turbo. Anyone out there...
Just registered my wife Cathie and myself for 3 nights July 3,4, and 5 in the L tenting section. Not sure if staying for Saturday night as of now. PM me if anyone out there needs a parking space.
Hey looks like I'll be stopping by the meet for a couple of days with my wife Cathie. Dates I can get away to camp looks to be Thursday - Saturday for the event. Since the last show I attended in Michigan I upgraded my truck with a turbo. Should have done it the first day I owned it. Mel are you...
I am in the process of installing a stock 1994 ford turbo in my 1990 truck. Mine is stuck together but I dont think I will seporate unless I cant get it installed. The question I have for the group is: Anyone buy any manifold studs (like the ones on the top of the picture of the up pipe). I...
Good write up. I have a factory ford unit to install on my 1990. I hope soon. This site is a great place to get all kinds of pointers from people that had already done it. Thanks
Two years ago i was getting about 13mpg. This was a great improvement over my last truck (1995 2500 4x4 350cu auto 10 mpg no matter what I did with or without a trailer). Went to the IDI Rally in PA and got a tune up by Mel on dyno day (pulled 142rwhp on the dyno) and got 16 on the way home with...
