Time for a clutch- need reccomendations

Clint- I'd really like the chance to check out your truck and the rollover noise if you have the time. Sounds like we're getting more and more of the local IDI guys on the list here- perhaps we should all get together soon. Anyone have any insight on what the ZF5 was designed to be put behind...

Time for a clutch- need reccomendations

Well, it seems my clutch is slipping. If I open the throttle fully in 4th gear, there is noticable slippage and it's worse when rowing through the gears. My truck is modded, and will likely get more goodies in the future, since we've ruled out the possibility of a new truck for the forseeable...

    Do they still do it?

A Multi Layer Steel (MLS) gasket would be the easiest route to go to keep things where they belong. I have experience with both, but the shape of the pre chamber on these trucks makes a fire-ring hard to do, as mentioned above. A good company can stamp out or water jet cut a MLS gasket pretty...

    820 Cubic Inches & Barely 100 HP...

Holy cow- that thing is AMAZING! I'd LOVE a chance to drive that- old iron just impresses the hell out of me. Check out the chain pins- each one has a little cotter pin in it- just damn cool in my book. Ryan

Thinking about an 1.5 Add a Leaf

Whoops. I should have read more thoroughly. In that case, just ship your D60 to me and I'll send you my TTB setup so you can utilize the upper balljoint spacers:sly Should go together easily and fix your problem for under $100. Post some photos when it's done! Ryan

Thinking about an 1.5 Add a Leaf

My F250's had an add-a-leaf from Suspension Connection in the front for 2-3 years now. So far, no problems. It is definitely a little rougher ride, but worth it for the tire clearance and leveled stance in my opinion, considering it's under $100 in parts. Be warned however, to get the camber...

The beast may have to go

Get a front mounted hitch. Seriously- you could drive the boat through a drivethru lane with a front mounted hitch. It's a pain to unhook and re-hook up the boat once you get home, but it'll keep you outta the neighbors yard. Ryan

Brown Truck Under the Knife Project - Engine

Sean- I say if it's a $100 valley pan gasket holding you up, tear into it. You'll be able to source one no problem. I *MIGHT* even have one in my cabinet at work- I can check tomorrow for you. If I do, I'll ship it to you. Ryan

Brown Truck Under the Knife Project - Engine

Get that engine apart. The sooner you get into it, the sooner it'll get back together. IF any blame lies on the machine shop, you'll want your proof sooner than later. Besides, we want pictures of the internals. Ryan

    How can I Fix this...Plastic :(

Get a Tuffy console! You WON'T regret it! www.tuffyproducts.com I put one in my truck and mounted my CB in the radio pocket on the front. It's lockable, and has way better cupholders than the factory console. Ryan

    dps injectors

Good point Mel. I'd forgotten about the pintle being ground off. I guess I was figuring the OP was looking for a way to ID them while installed.

    What started you burning oil?

I got into my truck purely by accident. I had modded my 84 Toyota 4x4 to the point it wasn't comfortable for a daily driver, and it wasn't exactly street legal with 38" tires, half doors, and full time lockers chirping the tires at every turn. I decided that I needed to buy a tow-rig and a...

    ATS Aurora 2000

My seat-of-the-pants-o-meter says my new Aurora 2000 turbo moves WAY more air than the previous 088 kit I had on the truck. The wastegate lets it spool up almost instantly, even with the added length of my intercooler plumbing in the mix. Russ is right, no ball bearings, but with the nice cool...

    dps injectors

No appearance difference whatsoever. The best way to identify them is to install and observe the terrible misfire at idle, or bench test them and watch them pour fuel out the nozzle rather than atomize it. Ryan

    Tires...beating a dead horse again...

Michelin LTX M/S They are definitely more of a highway tire, but if you want longevity under a heavy truck, they'll suit you. I still really like my BFG's, what's your issue with them? Ryan

Brown Truck Under the Knife Project - Engine

Sean: Just a thought here: Don't you have like 4 IDI trucks at your place? Can you rob 2 known good injectors off another running truck and stick 'em in the Brown truck as a bit of diagnosis? Ryan

    Injector cap O-ring size

I managed to spring a leak from one of my return line caps while running around the desert at high speeds yesterday... I smelled the fuel today when I was getting out of the truck at work, and found the #8 injector wet. The cap appears to be fine, so I'd like to try orings first if I can get...

    show off your IDI

I'm not sure. We were out scouting for spots to go duck hunting when the season opens and stumbled upon those. I think they say 330C on 'em looking at the other photos. Whatever they are they're HUGE. Ryan
