no start.NEED HELP ASAP
is the tach bouncing while your cranking? how long have you cranked it, if less than 11.3 volts left in your battery it will not fire, also hows your glow plugs? get a charger on it, watch the tach and if it's bouncing you may wanna try and jump the GP relay for 45 sec's or so and see if...- yoslick

Additives
TCW3 2 stroke oil is all I ever add, 1 oz per gallon diesel works well. keeps your o-rings lubed and supple and quiets the injectors as well. welcome slick- yoslick

Hard start
+1 on the glow plugs, check your relay first, jump it for 30 seconds when the engines cold with a pair of insulated pliars and see how she lights off, then work your way towards the valve cover wiring if that doesn't solve it.... Slick- yoslick

Well, since you already got a fuel filter, what'd the old one look like? was the bowl full or empty when you opened it up? whens the last time you dumped the water valve?? Next time it dies, don't crank it over before looking in the fuel bowl, sounds like a fuel pump issue to me but thats an...- yoslick

I'm sure you checked oil level, whats the fuel filter look like? bowl full ? when was the last oil change? try swapping tanks ?- yoslick

Alternator
Need about 1100-1200 rpm for max output on the alternator minimum, sounds like somethings not making connection or by chance yours took a dump....- yoslick

I measured mine to be sure I got the right length, don't wanna end up short, my cable started to come apart from the battery post part and was all blue/black inside. As for the Solenoid, make sure it's a GP rated, last time I got one at NAPA they gave me a starter one and it didn't last more...- yoslick

Should read same as the other big post or darn close (it's a straight shot from the batterys so should be current battery voltage), if theres a difference it shows that your contacts inside the relay are fried.. Another problem that shows up on these older trucks is the battery cables get...- yoslick

Correct on the clockwise yellow tab to drain your fuel filter assy, should be a hose attached to that drain spigot under the yellow tab which drains out on the ground under the truck, might be plugged or came off and it's draining into the valley under the filter assy, check with a light, other...- yoslick

lost brake boost, is it the pump?
If you do a DIY air filter, just stick the sensor in the fender well hole where the box used to be and you'll be good to go.. Slick- yoslick

Major Problems with Front end
Still sounds like you got a hub spinning or trying to engage, I'd jack up the front end and start turning tires, drive shaft anything you can turn, grab the tires and check the ball joints etc...... Slick- yoslick

Actually I already did that sort of, had an analysis done when I got it, 6 mos later I did it again just to get a track record going but about 3 mos prior I had started using the 2 stroke in the fuel and the copper went up, if it was another type of metal I'd be really worried. Anybody do Blackstone lab work on their engine oil? Mine came back real high in the copper/metals section due to the 2-stroke in the fuel, seems part of the lubrication that 2 stroke gives is due to high concentrations of copper in it..... Slick- yoslick

Squealing in drivers side front
vacuum pump provides vacuum for your brakes etc... located right on the front of the engine driver side, ran by your serpentine belt, usually when they are going bad they really start squealing, yours bouncing around coming and going is exactly how mine was when it went bad, make sure if you...- yoslick

Battery light on, voltage gauge Normal ~14v at batteries?
Try disconnecting both your pos cables while its running, if it dies your alternator has problems, run it into a NAPA and they'll test it free.... Slick!- yoslick
