I took a 15/16 socket and turned the crank over by hand so I now know my issue is electrical which I will resolve once I can afford two good batteries and new battery cables. I’ll also check the starter and relay while I’m at it. By the way, Merry Christmas everybody and may God give y’all a...
I let the block heater run all night and everything was nice and warm under the hood. I topped off the oil, it was about 6 qts low as the oil pan seal has a slow leak. When I hooked up the batteries, the starter clicked but the engine didn’t turn over. I’m thinking it may be seized unless the...
Make that two of them. I’m not showing continuity to the block with the others but I’m not sure if they’re bad or the the block is too rusty to get a good reading.
There is fuel in the fuel filter so lift pump must still be good. I did find one glow plug broken, I’m about to research how to ohm the rest of them out. I’ve got the battery on the charger and about an hour before I try to start it, I’ll plug in the lock heater.
Since we are forecast to get a lot of rain I’m going to try to get the 7.3 running instead this Christmas break. I’ll change the oil, injectors, fuel filter, and possibly the lift pump since I’ll move it all to the other truck. Is there a quick way to tell if it is electric or mechanical...
Do you have a side pic of the truck so I can see how much space you have above your wheels? I drive on some pretty rough terrain that will put any suspension through a workout and don’t want the tires scraping on the body.
My wife has a car but we live at the bottom of a hill on a long dirt road and when ever it rains or snows, my truck is the only one that can get out. My dodge has a 4” lift and 35”s. (33”s in the pic because I got a good deal on them!). When the post online said that that black one was 4”/35”s...
The donar truck has a good bit of rust but lots of good parts! I’m not sure if I can salvage the flat bed or adapt it to a pickup frame but we shall see! The rear prize of this truck is the Dana 60 kingpin with dually hubs and 4.10 gears!
The long term goal for this truck is to build the 6.9, do a custom 8” lift so I can run 38” military tires, and paint/ restore the body. We just found out we are expecting baby number two and my current truck only seats three so the dead line for getting the truck going just got bumped up. The...
This is my first thread on Oil burners. Let me start off by saying I don’t need a DRW, I just have always loved the look of them. I know the extra cost and pain they are but it is worth it to me. Now that we got that out of the way, onward! Earlier this year I picked up a 1985 crew cab...
Awesome! Then I can just use some blocks in the rear! Later this week I’ll get a build thread started and will take all the advise I can get! Keep an eye out!
I’m about to start my 1985 F350 CC DRW conversion to 4x4. I have a 1991 f350 DRW cab and Chassis as a donar. I am wanting to have a 4” lift to run 35”s. What springs did you use and with the RSK how much lift did it have compared to a stock f350 4x4?
