your local DOT office (chicken coop) would be a good start. also, your DMV will have licensing thresholds. you can almost count on kali being the gold standard. they do set the pace for the rest of the nation.
you're looking at what started as a F250 SRW 4x4. 4.10 lsd 10.25 rear 4.10 D50 front. the PO put in the oem pickup DRW rear axle and dually hubs on the D50 front. Somewhere along the way, it got a T19 put in. When I got to it, I put in a ZF5 with a GV behind the 1356 transfer case. a 4.10 D60...
couple of things to consider.
1) road tax on a F450. don't know how punishing road taxes are for stuff bigger than a 1 ton truck
2) insurance. down in the lower 48 many states will force F450 owners into getting commercial policies.
this is why I built this rig. It flies under DOT radar in a...
you mean the "gamble" was started back in 1988.......in fact, F450 towtrucks and car carriers still command a premium price as old as they are.
1995 and later had a F450 crewcab option through Centurion. They also had a 4x4 option too. Both options were often out of reach for the private...
i have three of the Murray/O'riley's radiators in service. Two if fleet trucks and one in my own rig.
Longest in-service unit is three years and no negative issues to report.
i'm not so worried about it in the winter. but as soon as the weather warms up....get rid of them asap. there's a reason why you see gators all over the road at the beginning of summer.
if you have spare parts on hand, plug in the spares one at a time, so you can avoid opening up the tank. the FSV is possibly a bear to get to though. bottom line, your problem is in one of three areas. one) the sender. two) the FSV and three) the wiring. having a volt/ohm meter will be...
Tim (the Warden) bought a set of MM hubs for his KP D60. I have no idea where the next weak point in the drive train is, but I'm quite sure it won't be the hubs.
F600/700/800 and F250/350/450 share the same doors.
nothing else.
the bigger truck use a completely different firewall and floor pan.
no pics right now, but when my f700 comes in for service I'll take some pics and post them.
if you brought that into my shop to be installed. I'd refuse the job.
here's why.
1) extensive throttle linkage changeover.
2) the advance is locked out. the advance is what gives you the power when revving up the motor.
3) max rpm is obivously limited. note how narrow the throw is for the...
the fleet truck with 7.3 and ZF6 for that price is a "Ray Charles" deal in my book. Just put down the cash and take it home with you once the trans is in.
As far as a IDI running NA and adding a turbo, I'd do it in a hot second as long as I'm also doing an IC. the towing difference is night...
sorry I got back a little late. firstly, it's a custom built job.
does it have 14.5" wheels? the base axles are mobilehome axles. they can come with or without brakes.
check out this morphidite behind the Nostromo. looks pretty familiar eh? :D
