Heat is turning cold... then hot... then cold... etc.

@Fredrickson Let's see some photos of your rig! What is it's use? I posted some photos of mine on the 7.3 IDI Show Us Your Ride thread. If I am at full stop in park, with foot off the brake pedal, the light will come on. I have noticed no consistency. It seems very irregular as for timing when...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

Hi everyone again. Here is a new video of another cold start this morning at 8:00 AM. Outside temperature was 39°F and, as requested, I only cycled the glow plugs once this time. Same delay... Also, does anyone know if this part is okay hanging where it is or should it be zip tied or clipped...

Heat is turning cold... then hot... then cold... etc.

@The_Josh_Bear Okay, so given this is an E350 with the ambulance package from Ford, do you think that I would or wouldn't have this hydroboost? Anything I can get up under and look at to confirm?

Heat is turning cold... then hot... then cold... etc.

Something I should add is that I have had this issue with the heat going cold way before ever seeing that brake light on the dash. The brake light has only been within the past few months. I'm going on three years with this ambulance. I figured the stiff pedal in the cold had to do with slow...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

@The_Josh_Bear Thank you for your detailed reply. First, you are correct regarding the starter. It's brand new as of last year. Magnet broke free inside and seized her up! Two new oversized ambulance batteries from Interstate as well. A few things to note as far as sound... I recorded this...

@Clb Do you have a good resource to read? What do I need to know? I read something about using test strips..?

Here's my rad house on wheels. His name is Clif-Ford he's a 1994 Ford E350 7.3L IDI (non turbo... sad and slow 12,000 lb tank) with 155,000 miles (bought him at 132,000 miles). If you see me in Colorado, knock and say hi! ... or if you pass me going 20 MPH up and mountain honk or something...

Heat is turning cold... then hot... then cold... etc.

@snicklas My brakes are very stiff only when it's super cold out right after starting. Maybe 20 °F and under? After she warms up they work fine. My BRAKE warning light on the dash recently started turning on then immediately back off ... but more recently it comes on then off then on then off...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

@Farmer Rock and @snicklas I had the throttle depressed halfway in that video and let off as soon as it fired. I will record another video in the morning (supposed to be 38 °F at 8:00 AM) and turn the key after the WTS light goes out the first time. I was unaware of giving full throttle under...

Slow start at 47 °F ... Glow plugs?

Here is a cold start I recorded a few minutes ago. Outside temperature is 47 °F, I have Opti-Lube Winter (blue) anti-gel in the tank and I haven't run it in 24 hours. Didn't run block heater. Anyone think this is glow plugs or something else? Cold start at 37 °F after sitting for 12 hours...

What exactly is this line you are referring to?

Heat is turning cold... then hot... then cold... etc.

Hey there. I'm new here and this is my first post. I have a 1994 Ford E350 7.3L IDI, non turbo ambulance. After starting up, my heat begins warming up and as I am driving down the road, it will suddenly start blowing cold after maybe 20 minutes. It will blow cold for maybe 10 minutes, then...
