I have to admit the GM tow mirrors on Erica's truck are sweet. (At least from the pass seat - I have yet to be allowed to drive it).
Sorry about the bed. I wonder what Fastenal would want to ship one from Wes? Does John up in Dover, PA have sheet metal or just engine parts? He parts out a bunch...
Hate to say it but you will get spoiled. Is it a 6.0 gas or dirty max?
Looks like a pre 2014 truck. Erica's is the 1500. I have only been allowed to move it 10 feet in the driveway. From the passenger seat it is a very nice ride though!
Yep. IIRC the federal mandate is one year after current calendar year. Used to be August / September MY switch but manufactures started pushing that a long time ago. (99 super duty...)
Sorry for the hijack.
I like that idea. I picked up some of those style boxes from HF for Erica. She has been trying to come up with a plan to organize small parts for the flips. She has one that just has door hardware (screws), one electrical related (plate cover screws, ceiling fan hardware) and such. That rack...
I bought my truck from Darrin as a "TMU" truck. Checked and signed by the box that stated "Actual miles unknown" on my Maryland motor vehicle registration and title paperwork. Imagine my surprise when my paper title showed up from MD DMV showing I owned a truck with 26,XXX miles! Since I did not...
Last Sunday mine started fine. Monday not so much and the key was very stiff. Last night after 4 hours on the block heater a few ounces of 911 and the jump box she started. Thanks for mentioning this Ray! I guess my column tear down will happen sooner rather than later!
Tomorrow is supposed to...
Vegas - I think it looks sharp but like you, I have a soft spot for white trucks. My dually was sweet with the two tone but the blue faded.
My current IDI is tan and laserjock calls it old man. Erica calls it Teddy Bear!
Used mine on Sunday to grab some bath vanities for one of Erica's flips. One hour on the block heater and one cycle of the plugs she fired off after sitting all week. I think is was around 18* Sunday. On Monday with one hour on the block heater and a slightly stiff ignition switch she just...
Saw it from a distance on Monday afternoon while doing a part swap. Hell of a time keeping my son in the car and not letting him (or me) run over and look at it close. (We were headed to Christmas dinner)
Oh, welcome!
Ray, I always used white bottle PS in my dually. With the 89 truck I after I got it from Darrin I stopped by Menards (hoping to buy a level of all things) and they had a smoking deal on Howes. I bought a couple jugs and have been using it with no issues. I may get flamed, but I never measure it...
I do payroll for a few tow companies and car haulers (auction and new cars). All of them have that policy written in their employee handbooks. The largest damage deduction I have seen come through was around $1800. In MD it is against the law for an employer to take a deduction or withhold pay...
Imagine how many more hp you would have gained if you added stickers!
I have new sticks on the way for mine. I know I should do the complete fuel system, but I do have a bad injector and decided to start with it. Putting the kid in college and Erica starting her business severely limited funds.
I have mice issues with my Jeep. When I got the vehicle 3 years ago it had a nest under the back seat. Just 2 weeks ago I discovered a missing firewall plug and severely gnawed connectors under the hood. My son swears he has seen one run along the tranny tunnel on the inside of the vehicle. Once...
David,
If the motor is free it should be able to be turned by hand. Any indication that it was exposed to the elements? Was the turbo etc on the motor? On NA trucks the cowl seal sits above the center of the air cleaner and they can ingest water (mine did). Turbo motors seal up better.
With...
I pulled a pan in frame to replace a piston when my valve hit. I was factory turbo at the time. Yanked the turbo, raised the engine till it hit the firewall. You are able to pull the pan at that point.
That said I will NEVER do something like that in frame again. I'll pull the front clip and...
