Gas boils at a pretty low temp and probably "off gas," wasting the thinning effect of it. But I can say that my fuges running thinned fuel and these warmer summer temps are pulling out a lot of sludge. So maybe mild 60f could be helpful.
The veg oil guys used to use a "sight glass" on their return line so they could see if the line had flushed out enough then switch it back to the clean diesel tank. They used a inline cleanable filter that was a small cylinder in shape. This could help you see when to switch return to which...
He is still up and doing business. Just hasn't posted videos in a while. I really liked his centrifuge comparison videos. I really want to buy his single pass. To get a second fuge going. Unfortunately he recently said that it was to difficult to source parts so he does not plan on making more...
I have a stock dodge truck with single tank. So I blend it to run well all the time. Never had an issue so far. I tow heavy a lot though. Cummins is di and grid heater so no glow plugs. I have thought that glow plugs replacement would just be part of some interval maintenance. I have wanted to...
Idi have usually have higher compression ratios(22:1) then di engines(16ish:1). I think that might be part of it. I worry glow plugs can be erroded by wmo and difficult to replace. I also wonder if the pre-combustion chamber could get coked up. Never seen it, but have read about it online...
What about this for a pump. Shallow well jet pump.
Not made for oil but the design is cool. It uses some water to pull up more water with a jet. Probably replace the seal pretty easily and should last a good while especially if there isn't much pressure behind it. Maybe modify to be gas...
I have a craftsman visco cup and test some blends against it some diesel I have. I just check it to see how close it is. But I haven't used it with the wiz-wheel calculator. But that is a resent use.
I have a summer and winter blend I run here in oregon.
I have noticed that there engine runs better with warm fuel vs cold. Cold start(still starts easy)/first part of the drive vs after a long trip/hours of engine run. It would be interesting to have several temperature probes to see home...
I think that 20percent is a common amount of gas blends. To much gas and effects the autoignition characteristics (centaine rating) negatively and cause the engine to run rough. I have heard of people burning up to 30percent gas but not much higher. Be interesting to see other people have learned.
I do a little burn test of oils. I just use a little piece of paper towel, dip it in oils, the try to light with a lighter. If it lights with this "wick" I figure it will burn. I also note how easy it ignites, flame color, and what kind of smoke it produces. Burns clean with little smoke is...
So just tried a little vinegar test. No reaction. I am thinking that I rinsed it pretty well the first time with Hot hot and lots of water. Also my lye mix wasn't that strong. I googled some youtube lye/aluminum reactions and I didn't have any of that happening thank gosh! Lol
I think it will...
All good man, I say leave the post. There so little out there for cleaning this stuff off things. Yep agree use lye as last resort. Okay so neutralize with weak vinegar. Should be obvious if the surface of the aluminum starts to react then I know there is some lye still on it. If not then it...
