Service my PSD today, added hot shot. Between new oil and Hot Shot hope that will cure the cold morning loping. Old only had 4100 miles on it which is not real bad. Polished the headlights too.
If it just going into the flat plate of the timing cover, I believe they are 5/16 -18 UNC ,probably 3/4 to 1 " long. 14 lbs torque. If in doubt on length stick a wire in until bottoms out then a little shorter.
So advancing it some will make it not roll coals as much? On my 93 IDIT it will roll pretty good , pulling pretty heavy 18k, Always timing it kind of by ear being have not found anyone around here with a time meter.
Nope used them clean up until 90s when stop being a mechanic, can't say I ever had a problem then with them. Did a lot of engine rebuilding and use a lot of them.
The last couple of morning being it has gotten cold, 29 degrees, my e99 PSD lopes for just a little bit when I start it,what causes this? Smooths right out after maybe 30 sec or so. Thanks
1 ton duallys that are 4x4. They all are built with cab and chassis parts. Or 2x4 dually boxes where put on them. Ford did not built dually 4x4 until 1999 , like my picture. I guess there was a good number of companies out there that did after market conversions though.
But again if you only what to use one set of rims , duals, the front axle will need to come from a cab and chassis truck, as duallys with pickup box where never make as 4x4 from the factory in those year. One could use a single wheel axle but IMO would look funny.
I have a 93 dually IDIT , limited slip been driving for years in snow country. That said a lot of pieces to find to make it 4x4, parts from a cab and chassis is your best bet. to keep it as a one ton and a cab is chassis is all you will as a 4x4 in those years.
Shift my 90 all the time rolling with little noise. tires need to be all the same size and not under load when doing. I drove a lot of old farm trucks with straight cut gears too.
