    That is a CDR and normally on a factory turbo setup , which this looks like being it has the turbo value cover, there would be a hose on that connected to the upper air filter housing which has been removed.

    Good brakes on truck and trailer and a little common sense its do able. Been pulling 18-20k with my 93 dually for over 10 years now with out a problem.

    If the rear heater is not going to be use why don't you just install new hoses from the engine to front heater and be done with any extra fittings.

    If I recall correctly my 93 dually says 10000 GVWR , can't remember the others with out going and looking.

    The $75 spent buying a complete new harness from Classic Diesel Designs would be well worth the money spent. A very professional quality product that is nicely done. No cutting and splicing of wires or trying to find ends that fit correctly

    Put the check valve in. One of mine was doing that , start and die. Put the check valve in, also I used the good full wrap hose clamps rather then normal one , does not cut into the hose that way.     Most people don't realize that running with out a themostat can make the engine hotter. The coolant circulates to fast not allowing the radiator to do its job of pulling the heat out of the coolant.

    I wonder if the oil bypass that can cause low pressure could also cause the higher pressure too.

    I have been using Car Quest batteries, can't remember who makes them. Not cheap , $130 think, they have been lasting a good long time in my trucks. Up north here where it gets really cold I want something that is going to crank things over. Got one set think is 8yrs or more now.

    Well it looks like by installing the check valve before my mechanical pump solved my morning start and run out of fuel problem. Have tried it two days now and starts and stays running like it should. :Thumbs Up

    That kind of explains things. If things seem to be working right, its all hooked up , I would just gut it out so it is just an adaptor from the hose to valve cover.

    Someone has done some hackery on this . If a NA there should not be a hole in that valve cover and he would have to put back on the back of the intake where it belongs and seal up the hole. It would be nice to see a more complete picture of where it all goes to now.

    Best thing to do is set then side by side and change anything that looks different. Look for little things too.
