Good pulling point on the front end?

I'm not to sure over what your rig really is, but some good anchor points would be: The front cross-member, maybe the bumper mounts, or maybe a section of frame you might conceivably attach a clevis too.

    94 460 mpg

@ Kenda That's why I've been thinking about replacing the wimpy small block Chevy in my 79 3/4-ton Suburban with a minimum of a 'mild' 454, but more likely an 8.2 Detroit Diesel.

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

I honestly am not too concerned with 'absolute power', if I was, I could swap in an old Cummins v12 with triple 14-71 double-helix huffers on it; making enough power to pull the Statue of Liberty down.

    94 460 mpg

I have a friend that owned( maybe still owns) a 90 F350 Supercab dualy with the 460, he told me that no matter what, he got 7mpg. Didn't matter if it was just the truck pulling itself, of if he had his gooseneck trailer hitched up with 18,000lbs on it, 7mpg.

1991 3/4 ton Ford Ranger build

I'm not saying that what you'e running there is a bad thing at all, because I think it's cool as hell. That being said, I think with that body being on that frame, you might need to register it as a Ranger, which means you might have a problem with the rig being too heavy for it's GVW.

    F-series quarter window replacement glass?

I have a CDL so that's not really much of a problem, but I'm finding it hard to find the quarter-window glass by searching online, it's like I'd need to either hack the cabs off of perfectly nice cabs, or fab everything after the doors.

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

Well, I've never undertaken any 'turbo' project before, so I have no real experience to bandy about, but what I've sorta been mulling over in my noodle the last few days has been BOTH, a compound AND parallel turbo set-up. Maybe twins in parallel and then one slightly larger one taking the...

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

@ Mohavewolf The cab isn't really that bad, but it's always nice to have that one extra resource to tap if we need it. Mainly though, as I said, the idea of a old-bodied, modern baja-style truck would be pretty cool. :-)

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

The project isn't really about making sense, it's a labor of love; like most hot rodders. I'm sorta aiming to hit 350 HP and 450 TQ, I'm currently thinking of a twin turbo set-up. I have the technical metal skill to fab whatever I can't find(within reason)Brackets, tubes, plumbing lines and that...

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

Some yes, some no, it all really depends on where the truck is driven/stored; but that's the case with every truck.

California- Diesels- DMV Regulations- Do I have a chance of keeping my truck?

Not to really stick my nose where it doesn't belong, as I really have no idea what I'm talking about. That being said, have you considered switching to 19.5 rims? I heard from a local tow operator that their truck was a higher GVW than they needed, so they switched down from the 22.5s and that...

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

Coulda sworn it was, of course maybe he just mentioned it in another episode and it had nothing to do with Copperhead. I coulda sworn though that one time he mentioned some company doing that.

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

Well then, I must say a very hearty 'Thank You' as I've tried looking various times and found nothing.

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

When he( Stacy) was talking about how they built Copperhead(I think) he said that they got a brand new cab from some company. Made new, just like the new Dynacorn Mustangs and Camaros. I'm looking to restore my grandpa's 69 GMC Custom Camper 20 with full-floaters; well, that AND I've always...

Replacement cabs for 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks?

Awhile back, on 'Trucks', back when Stacy was hosting the show, he mentioned a replacement cab for these trucks, think it might have been involving project 'Copperhead'. Anyone know where they are offering them?

    F-series quarter window replacement glass?

I'm sorta in the process of acquiring an F800 with a wheelbase similar to that of a school bus. Anyway, it has a crew cab, but I'm interested in adding some to the cab, like two sets of Supercab quarter windows, to really fill in the area between the cab and the rear axle; and also to add some...

Doing rust belt things to a "clean" rust belt truck.

Don't you guys in 'the rust belt' forget that the upper Midwest has it's share of Rust trouble. ;Sweet

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't thinking too wild and crazy, but something similar to what was in the first link '88 Ford' contributed seems pretty close, though I don't want a box, and mine isn't a 4x4 and I'm not interested in 'harvesting' parts from another truck the way they discussed...

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

Interesting. See, I'm sorta new to this whole diesel love thing, I Have the 84 F350 Diesel; and couple of projects I wanna 'diesel-up, like a ;56 GMC 450 and a 51 Ford F-6, and a 79 Suburban I'd love to see with a tweaked 3208.

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

Interesting website, but it doesn't really talk about boosting it; the weakest point I can really see seems to be the five bolts per cylinder, you want as many as you can get for unning much boost. Though, I was only thinking something around 20-22 lbs boost. :-)

    Navistar 6.9L boost limits.

Navistar 6.9L boost limits? I have an '84 Ford F350 super duty extended frame dually with the 10.5 Sterling, 4 speed stick, and a 6.9 Navistar in it. I want to 'hot rod' the engine, and build the truck as a 'mini semi', and I was wondering what the MAXIMUM boost I could ram into this beast...
