just runnin a poorly rebuilt (by me, first time in a trans) getrag. been holding for over a year and a half now. nothing behind that has busted either. and it's got somewhere around 450k on it???? go figure. dave- swank

that's the hardest part, huh? and i don't know what yer situation and skills are, but building a set really is not that much work. especially if you've got a buddy for help. as far as cost, that was the nice thing about my set up. used the stock turbo on top, and the bottom turbo cost 400...- swank

yes. the smaller you go on top, the less lag you will have. i think an hy could be pretty fun on top. definitely need an external gate (big one) once you go there though. hell, i need one on my set up. and yes, twins WILL decrease dp. with my stock turbo, at 40 psi boost, i had 75psi dp...- swank

well, the only reason to go with twins is to get more pressure, right? more pressure=cooler temps. i have very little actual experience, but everything i've read says that with just studs you'd be good for 50 in the long term. mines been good so far. i've been "testing" them pretty hard...- swank

i think the bad transition thing would be all handled in how the wastegate was set up. as far as a bottom turbo, i jus dunno. the b2's are popular. i've read up on some of the garrets (they have a great website), t88, t91, stuff in that range seems like it would be good. the big turbo on the...- swank

the first (and only other set i've seen in person) set of twins i saw had what looked almost like a subaru turbo on top. i think i've got teeth bigger than that thing was. he put 650 down that day, i think. with a good ex. gate, i think an hx 30 sized turbo might be good :confused:. i'm no...- swank

it was great! wouldn't keep egt's in check at 350 hp though. did a much better job of it than the stocker though. and it was CHEAP! i just got the wheel and machined the housing myself. 70 bucks and a couple ours hunched over a lathe, and i could floor it almost all the way through 5th...- swank

installing a juice
howdy folks. going to help a buddy put a juice on an 03 or 04 (not sure which) this weekend. never dealt with any of these eeelectronic diesels before and was just wondering if there would be anything i should watch out for that might not be listed in the destruction manual. thanks in advance...- swank
