    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

Did some more work on the pick up recently, got my transfer case resealed. Put Mahle gaskets instead of Dorman ones on the oil cooler with no rtv or sealant of any kind on the gasket, I did put some on the bolts, one or two of them that I took out were soaked in oil so figured that might be at...

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

Well I got the pick up back together finally after replacing throw out bearing with a nicer one from south bend clutch and the oil cooler gaskets, o rings. Sadly my oil cooler is still leaking a lot of oil out of the same place, the rear oil cooler head. I think it’s leaking from the gasket area...

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

@IDIBOBS The squealing noise is not ever present at idle. I have to be driving, at least in second gear for it to happen. A lot of times won’t start till 3rd gear. Also will happen now even after I have been driving for a while, when it first started it would routinely go away completely...

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

@03wr250f Thank you for the advice. I have replaced the tensioner, was one of my first ideas about what it could be. I may try replacing the alternator soon. I drove the pick up until one day it overheated on me a few times while driving maybe 10 miles. Had to pull over and let it sit then it...

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

@rvitko Thank you for the reply. Does your squealing also stop whenever you get near operating temp? Is cold up here so mine never warms up to that point idling, have to drive it and it lasts for miles but it would at closer to sea level warmer places.

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

Also the 904-807 Dorman vacuum pump has been discontinued and is very hard to find now. I have one on the way but it’s not going to get to me till Christmas. The one I had on there was a Amazon one and I have no idea if it’s quality or not.

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

1993 F250 7.3 IDI 4x4 zf5 non turbo Merry Christmas and Happy late Thanksgiving to you all. I have had a problem with a squealing noise from this pick up since very recently after replacing the transmission and main seal for the last time. It happens only while driving and I don’t think it’s...

Fel Pro Rear Main Wear Sleeve

Thank you all for the replies. My flywheel came with the new bolts with pre applied thread sealant, it leaked then and when I put lock tite on it. There were no signs of oil coming from the crank’s threads. From what I could tell each time there was oil coming out of the bottom of seal where...

Fel Pro Rear Main Wear Sleeve

I decided to just take the sleeve out of the seal. It wasn’t as stuck in there as I thought, was probably just too worried about it. I’m going to assume it was just in there to protect the seal during shipping and go ahead with install. Pick up has to drive 8 hours or so on Friday but I’ll just...

Fel Pro Rear Main Wear Sleeve

I just don’t understand how that sleeve is going to go over the crank whenever seal is pressed into plate and then I attempt to install over crank. My first thought was to install plate and then drive seal in with the sleeve but that seems wrong too and likely to mess something up. Maybe that...

Fel Pro Rear Main Wear Sleeve

To be clear on my other two seals they were installed as described above. Clean crank with no gasket maker or oil of any kind.

Fel Pro Rear Main Wear Sleeve

@IDIBRONCO I promise you that sleeve is made of metal. This is the one I have. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/FPGBS40697?ir=2&r-src=BR:PDP:SP:Aboveproductdescription&ppid=FPGBS158681
