Ever find anything out about zeroing the glow shift EGT gauge? Mine starts out at 240F when powered on. To be fair, it doesn't seem to move at all until it gets warmed up though...
you could try reaching out to banks performance - i doubt they will sell you one, but if you can get them to give you a print you could prob get a machine shop to fab one. Depending on how committed you are to this kit, you might be able to find a fabricator who will make you one from scratch...
I haven’t got a set of lines from them but from what I have read they are one of the top 3 or 4 places to buy stuff for our engines from. Everything I have got from them has been good quality.
I had a similar issue along with the parking brake not actually holding the vehicle on any kind of incline - finally found someone local who was able to adjust both the rear brakes and cable to get it to work properly. For my vehicle it was just an adjustment problem that fixed both issues.

The timing thread on this form tells you everything, I got this meter and it works well. The shop I bring my truck to even asks to borrow it from time to time to do work on other vehicles. The company is super helpful too.
I think your right that the port makes a small difference. I had an actual gauge in the factory sender port for a few months, then i decided i wanted both the factory gauge working and my real gauge - moved the real gauge to the port on the top of the water pump and the gauge seems to read about...
