1987 F250 7.3 ATS Turbo ZF 5spd
I do not want to go with Ford balljoints as they have are not greaseable and Moog does not seem to list any for my truck at 2 different parts stores Carquest and PartsTrain online. 1987 F250 7.3 ATS Turbo ZF 5spd
I know the motor is a 7.3 Reman that was installed with a New ATS Turbo System in 2000. I just was suprised to see only the 6.9 listed in the manual and no 5 speed for 1987, but the manual was printed September 1986, might be the reason for this. It does have the Dana Rear from the axle code...- porscheman87

1987 F250 7.3 ATS Turbo ZF 5spd
The manuals are Ford Shop manuals dated September 1986 for 1987 Ford Light Truck. I do not see Helm anywhere only Ford Training and Publications Department with Ford Logo, the 4 speed and C6 automatic are the only transmission listed. Also the only motor listed is a 6.9 diesel.- porscheman87

I just purchased this truck it has a reman 7.3 with a new ATS Turbo that all was done in 2000 and only 30,000 miles on since all the work. It came with all the Ford manuals chasis and engine for 1987. I can not find a 7.3 listed as a motor for this truck. It also does not list a 5 speed...- porscheman87

Transfer case not shifting into Neutral or 4 Low
It should be a BW 1356 transfer case, check the linkage it probably is rusted and will have to be taken apart heated and sprayed with Rust Buster, Liquid wrench or penatrating oil. I had this same problem a week ago with my truck when I had the transmission replaced.- porscheman87

Well I'm keeping my T19 and tossing in 3.10's
The truck has not a single bid yet, starting at $3000 and a $3900 Buy it Now. The truck may not get any bids would be worth watching and maybe sending an offer, just a thought, you could part that truck and have a free GV Overdrive. I think the truck could get transported for $500-600 also.- porscheman87

I still have the IP that is in the truck which after closer reading in the back of the owners manual was rebuilt some time ago. 88 F250 ZF 5 Speed Back to Life
After a Bad Experience of Having my 88 F250 XLT 4X4 Towed and Ruining the Transmission, I now have a Remanufactured ZF 5 Speed by Zumbroto Bearing and Gear from Zumbroto MN, Dyno Tested 1 Year unlimited mileage warranty. ZF 5 Speed Trouble
Towcat, This truck has not had much use in the last 2 years maybe 2 thousand miles. I have used the transfer case this summer engaging the 4 HI and it never moved with any problem. ZF 5 Speed Trouble
Towing Company picked up the truck today to rebuild the transmission, I found that the Transfer case was stuck in gear and will not go in neutral as he claimed that he had it before the tow. Now he probably has the transfer case also to have rebuilt, could that too have been damaged?- porscheman87

ZF 5 Speed Trouble
I spoke with the Owner of the Towing Company today and he first tried to get out of it then stated he would turn it in to his insurance. Now he wants to cover the cost on his own and have his mechanic pull out the transmission and take it to a local rebuider that I know and would trust to fix...- porscheman87
