Another "Starter not turning engine over"
It`s always the little things that get cha. You park the truck out side? You guys in the eastern 1/2 of the country sure have been getting hit with some cold freezing weather. Need advice on battery cable replacement kit
Couple summers back, HF had another one of their constant Tool sales. Had the HYD Crimper marked down, Well couple days ago finally used it. Was installing the 12K HF Winch. Got a strange problem with my starter
There could be cracks in the full length of the cable insulation. Moisture/Salt can get into the copper and you have corrosion you do not see. I noticed one day both of my ground cables had cracks on both of them the full length. Measure the length of both and went to NAPA and had 2 new cables...- Old Goat

6.9 vs 7.3 idi oil fill/injection pump cover change
I prefer the 6.9 design, If you use a funnel makes is easy. The 7.3 being on an angle looks like easier to spill oil when filling. What I use for a funnel is the top of a QT bottle cut off about 3 inches. The threaded part fits right into the opening and locks in. The older style bottles with...- Old Goat

So what did you do with your truck today?
That old of a truck, wouldn`t be surprised if they didn`t total it. The way insurance co`s are. Hood at PNP around $100, the cowel air intake plate maybe $75. You are a Diesel mechanic, you must have connections with other shops and some paint guy as a side job could knock that out in no time...- Old Goat

1991 F250 4wd automatic diesel ignition switch woes
I drove the 86 about 3 years before I realized one day I could just turned the Ignition w/o the key and the engine started. Been that way ever since. Russ Repair new owners?
Checked their site,, they don`t have any where the inventory Russ had. It`s down to almost nothing. The Braded SS Cutch line they offer is what Russ sold also. Has anyone ever put a 6.9/7.3 IDI in a Dodge W series?

Someone go get it!!!

Back in 98 when my Mom & Dad moved to Nevada from Ca., they sold the appliances with the old house, I told them to buy a Maytag. That is when the Neptune was their new upscale water saving wonder. So what did you do with your truck today?
Rotated the tires, washed up the inside of the rims. Front one`s sure get scroungy from the Brake Pad dust. Every time I remove a wheel I always make sure to wash the insides so crap doesn`t get caked on. I have a NOS/OEM Brake Cable from the equalizer to the Brake peddle. Found it on E-Bay...- Old Goat

Oil Filter for 1993 7.3 IDI Non-Turbo....Baldwin B7039?
The Amsoil by pass filter , filters down to 2 micron. Not all the oil goes through it on every pass. Only takes a small percentage . It comes in 3 sizes, BP 90, 100 and 110. Well worth it if you keep your vehicles for the long haul. Goat- Old Goat
