    6.9 problems

I took Mr.Roboto's advice and went with the same plugs as my GM, AC 60G's. These plugs are never supposed to swell as they are self limiting. I don't know if it's true but i've had the same one's in mine for 4 years and haven't had a bad one. The spade connectors are a little smaller but if you...

    6.9 problems

Just thought ya should know, i wired up the push button and put in new glows and she starts. Only one plug wouldn't come out, it's swelled up, so for now at least i'm just gonna leave it. Considering the fact that the plugs were left on for along time I was expecting most of them to be swelled...

    6.9 problems

Got one more question for ya. I know Mr. Roboto said I can use the same plugs in this ford as my GM. Is this what would be recomended? I want something that will last with push button just in case they glow it too long. Gonna start getting parts for it tomorrow so any suggestions are welcome.

    6.9 problems

I just looked at the price of a 87 up controller and that idea is out. Kinda low budget. Guess i'll hook up a push button. I did some looking around in the tech articles and searched and haven't found instructions on how to do this. I'm guessing it's about the same as a 6.2 from the looks of it...

    6.9 problems

I started testing them last night and once i found the first 5 were burnt out I didn't bother testing the rest of them. New plugs and a push button will work. How hard would it be to switch to a later system so they will still work normal, then have a push button for extra glow time. This is the...

    6.9 problems

I planned on testing the glows last night but I forgot my test light. We took it out last night and went to start it 2 hours later and it took alot to get it going. Let it run for awhile, shut it off, came back 2hrs later same thing. I have a push button in my 6.2 and I put self limiting plugs...

Temp was about 45 deg outside truck was in a unheated garage, we plugged it in came back an hour and a half later and she fired right up. This doesn't seem normal to me mine will start...

6.5L missfire and LOTS of white smoke...

Injectors are recomended to be replaced at 100,000 miles. I dont think this is the problem but it wouldnt hurt to change them sometime. I would be pretty suprised if that is the original IP on there yet. IIRC the first ones were more prone to failure but then have been updated, is there a green...

C6 to ZF - block adapter plate?

It looks like it is a single mass flywheel. Not sure what all of them have but the 93 7.3 I worked on had a dual-mass flywheel. Also not sure with fords but with the 6.5's alot of guys prefer single-mass over dual-mass. I'm sure some one that knows more about fords will chime in.

    Muffler removal

I don't think I have ever heard a ford IDI turbo straight piped. This isn't a ford of course, but its a straight piped turbo diesel so close enough right.:D This is my 95 Chevy 6.5TD with a 4" straight pipe. http://media.putfile.com/65-4--Straight-Pipe

I know this is the Ford forum but...

When the truck is running take the vacuum line off at the wastegate actuator, on the turbo. There should be vacuum there. Hook it back up and make sure you cannot move the wastegate.

I know this is the Ford forum but...

Hydro-boost is what chevy has called it for many years. It gets it's vaccum from the p.s. pump to run the brakes. Is there now vacuum at the wastegate after changing the vac pump?

    95 Gmc 6.5 no power

Turbomaster is what Chris was explaining, a manual wastegate controller. Can be made fairly easily or bought.

    95 Gmc 6.5 no power

I'll bet the code for the WG was a 78. You should not be able to move the wastegate arm with the engine running. Take the vacuum line off, Does it have vaccum? If not go to the wastegate solenoid at the back of the intake on the drivers side, Is there vacuum there? If not check at the vaccum...
