Hi been reading many many pages on the poor shifting on the 4r100 Trans, having a issue with my 97 7.3 have swapped in a 2000 model year engine and trans have had the ecm reprogrammed installed the on/off tcc valve installed e40d shift solenoids and accumaltor valve body updated but still having...- 64rarebird

Havent taken any recent pics, the truck really didnt drop in the front much at all or if any , however my front leafs are new so that is likely the reason, do have to get my rear leafs done or replaced now with the diesel its just to tempting to haul more then i should and the rear of the truck...- 64rarebird

Sorry been along time since any updates , have been putting the truck to work ever since the swap, currently have put around 3000 miles on it since the swap and loving it!! Gets very good fuel mileage for a big truck with only a 3 speed auto (overdrive in the future) Have had no big issues come...- 64rarebird

Just a update if anybody is considering this swap it is a ton of work, nothing to difficult but very time consuming and i am a licensed auto tech with a fully equipped shop and at the current estimate i have well over 80 hours invested so far , but its coming together all in and plumbed up just...- 64rarebird

Thanks for the help Franklin got her up and running today with a few jumper wires, need to hard wire them in,would you be able to provide any help into the alt wiring? Got the ignition figured out now need to figure out the alt wiring i keept everything in place when i stripped the donor truck...- 64rarebird

Thanks for the help , got some of the wiring done today along a ton of other stuff, trying to fit this idi into a 77 f250 highboy. Got the glow plugs and starter wired up simple enough still not a 100% sure where to send the ignition key power to I think its the red light green wires? Also...- 64rarebird

So if i am reading that correct power up the brown and dark blue to the push button for the glow plugs and fuel line heater? and the red light green is the key on off for the injection pump?- 64rarebird

Well got some more done got the idi in place damn big engine in the narrow highboy frame, spent alot of time trying to get the thing level and clearing the starter,steering box, steering shaft etc also going to have to do some trans tunnel clearancing ,had it sitting in place and started making...- 64rarebird

Got home a little earlier then expected from my work road trip very tired but had to do a quick test fit of the idi , so far from what i can see the highboy frame has a extra crossmember that has to go and it looks maybe a notch on the front crossmember again these are very early measurements...- 64rarebird

I have noticed from looking at the pics and engine mounts seems everybody is mounting the idi very low in the frame? Don't have the truck here to look at but the 351M sat above the frame rails, i am assuming the size of the idi is the reason for setting it so low? Curious as with the two engines...- 64rarebird
