    Fuel Mileage - Be Honest

I average about 16-18 around town on both mine. If I baby it and watch the overhead on the highway, I might be able to go as high as 20mpg. It's just not how I drive... I usually have it pushed down pretty far and get around 16-17 mpg. I really don't know where these people come up with 23 or...

    Oil Change intervals?

I think that makes sense, $ wise. if you're doing extended change intervals etc. just seems like a lot of work to me though.

    New fuels???

there are two schools of thought... one is that the refiners are adding the lube to the fuel.. the other.. is that they aren't so add your own.

    Oil Change intervals?

That's what I usually do. just change it around 5k or so. I don't believe in going 15k miles without changing the oil.. but then I don't even have 15k miles on my 04 and its over two years old now. Still looks fresh as the day I drove it off the lot... I just wish it still had that new truck smell.

I've never noticed a problem with the brightness... guess I'll have to check into it.

Blue smoke and oil smell on start-up

The above is the Instrument Cluster Test which is different then the ECM check. Maybe we can get an accurate procedure and list for each model year. Mine's not showing any codes using the Key on/off test... it just says "done". The P codes or ECM trouble codes are done with the key off to...

Blue smoke and oil smell on start-up

I'm not sure about 06 models but on my 4.5, you can also get your Instrument Codes by having the key OFF, push and HOLD the trip button, turn the key to the ON position. Cluster should take off moving everything around, when it comes back to normal it will read codes if it has any.

Blue smoke and oil smell on start-up

on edit. I probably wouldn't care much about it but I don't have the problem at all with the 03' SO. It cranks.. no smoke and runs smooth.. so I don't think its normal for the 600. I think its probably an injector.. but that's a guess.

Blue smoke and oil smell on start-up

Killer, I have a similar problem with my 600, and have since day one. If the weather is cool, below about 50°f. It normally takes a while before it runs smooth and stops smoking. I've had it into the shop and basically they said.. "that's normal".. they did the tsb on it but nothing changed...

    Tires...

Hi John, I installed the 285-70-r17 BFG All Terrains on my 03' and they are great! Look great, ride great and handle really good. So far, so good... What's the deal with the 18" rims.. its like an oddball size rim which makes locating tires difficult.. I don't recall if my tires are "D" or...
