Hey guys I'm about to embark on a project. I have a wrecked f250 with a good 7.3 powerstroke and a good pickup with a 7.3 idi that I have other plans for (that will be a different thread) so I will be putting the 7.3 powerstroke in the 1988 f250. I am an automotive diesel tech so I understand both engines fairly well but I usually fix them not transplant them so if anybody has any advice before I start, please chime in. Btw I will be taking lots of pics.

I found one that a guy swapped a 94 out for a 94. Is there one of someone putting it in the older body style? I don't know how to navigate this forum very well yet just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

you've got the complete donor vehicle so it should be a home run. Everything needs to be swapped over.

Any clearance issues or custom brackets so far?

Not so far. Actually I thought it was kind of funny But it looks like there will actually be more room to work on it than the obs bodystyle.

Motor mounts lined up perfectly? I’ll be following this thread. I have an 88 with a slight knock and blown head gasket lol

Ya it's the exact same mount in the same place. If you have a manual tranny I would suggest pulling the tranny and removing clutch and flywheel on both engines.it makes it much easier and the tranny only takes about an hour to pull.

Have you solved the throttle pedal yet? That’s something I was wondering about

Not yet but it looks like it should bolt right up I will just have to drill the holes for it.
