Speaking of those fridges, what causes them to not work - do they leak the freon out, or what else?
The gas electrics are ammonia absorbtion (no freon) and the heat exchangers tend to rust out after years of use.
If the fridg. isn't used for sometime the ammonia solution can settle and congeal which turns semi solid when heated.
When they haven't been used for awhile they need to be "shook up", turned upside down or as I was told, "put it in the back of your pickup and drive around with it for a week".
The gas valves can go bad, dirt or bugs in the pilot assembly, bad thermocouple and so on.
