I want to put a zf5 in my 6.9 . what does it take to do the swap? can I use the t19 transfer case? mostly doing it because I do a lot of high way driving and want to keep the motor revs down at 55 mph.
Going by Sam's profile pic, I'm guessing he has a slant-nose, but knowing for sure would be a good idea.i used my T-19 floor pan, and everything worked without hacking it.
mine is an 87,
i also used the stock cross member.
Sam, it would be helpfull if we knew the year truck you were working on.

And, does your T-19 pan look like mine? I'm wondering if maybe they were using the ZF style pan in '87 even with the T-19? Either that or your '87 has a body lift...I don't see any way the early T-19 pan could have bolted in. The early T-19 pan angles down steeply just behind the shift tower, but the ZF is almost level with the shift tower all the way to the back of the main box. I actually wanted to use the T-19 pan, but fortunately I had a ZF pan available, because that T-19 pan was NOT going on the ZF without "modifications"
