IMO it would help a stock turbo'd truck too. I had a 1993 that was stock and had the regular wheel and it could have benefitted from the meatier range from 3-10psithe 60-1 wheel provides.

X2 it seems to be a good upgrade for pretty stock trucks to even mildly built trucks too. The more efficient compressor wheel probably allows for a lil cooler boost also...

I've only encountered turbo surge on trucks with programers that alowed the turbo to boost too much stock to mild the sd turbo is fine bosst it more than it is suposed to and it gets un happy

The sd turbo is good for around 45 psi.the obs psd turbo is good for 26 psi.without head studs the heads start lifting at 40 psi.my obs puts out 36 psi:eek:

So would it be cheaper to try to find the part number off a obs wheel and go to the dealership?

Yup, I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper to buy from somewhere online rather than the dealer. Ford is very proud of their parts....even when its not their parts (Garrett in this example).

The psd wheel won't fit an idi no matter what you do.

Get the wheel from ih.can also find them on ebay for short money.or try to find one in the junkyard.
