Come on Brad
Whats wrong with the Bricknoses, the front clip or the dash? What's not to love about them?
My #1 pick is the 73-79's. '74 in particular as its my birth year and the year of my 1st truck, it was a f100 2wd C6 360. I later had a 74 F100 4x4 with a 390. Come to find out the engine came out of a 68 Tbird and had 325hp with a 2bbl and Y-pipe exhaust.
A Holley street dominator intake, Edelbrock 600 mech secondaries, manual choke carb, Walker Dynomax headers, dual exhaust, 4:10's, Detroit locker, forged axles, 4" lift and 35" BFG Muds on 15x10 Outlaw 2 rims. It managed 11 mpg's and the emissions system was a PCV valve;p I bought this truck for $500 and put a hundred thousand miles on it, brought my first kid home from the hospital in it, and moved into my first house with it. Stupid easy to fix, ran stock Irocs and Mustangs of the era, and worked like a one ton. I would like another one to build as a play truck, more show and shine than the one I had, that thing was a boat yard truck and was rotted out before I had a hand on it.
My #2 is the 87-91 trucks. The newest you can get with 70's heritage built in
They still have slider controls for heat, skinny turn signal, high beams on the floor, wipers on the dash. A 92-96 would have to have my brick nose dash
#3, hmmm. I would have to say the '99-04 superdutys. They are way too comfortable and capabable to not like.
I also like the bump sides a whole bunch but probably didn't make my list because I never had one. The 80-86 is much appreciated in my book also. There is something about the 66-96 era trucks with 4 or 6 inches of lift and 33 or 35 inch tires on a 15x10 or 16.5x9.75 rim. they just have a great look to them that has been lost. The 97 up half tonners and the superdutys just can not match that look
Oh yeah, the 97-03 f150 has to be the ugliest thing Ford has ever came up with
Bet hey, I like bricknoses so who am I to say?
