They were very rare, but I've seen at least one light-duty F-250 that had a factory semi-floating axle (I think it was a Dana 60; it was an '83 or '84 so it was definitely a Dana axle) and a diesel. I wish I had taken pictures of it, but it at least used to belong to a guy on here who doesn't post very often. His handle is "brians". It was also one of the few trucks I've ever seen that had dealer-installed air conditioning; had the non-a/c heater box with the a/c setup separately and underneath it (IIRC), and a York compressor.
I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think sometime between '87 and '91, the Dana 50 TTB became standard on any diesel F-250...I've only seen Dana 44's on slant-nose trucks.
